It is actually twin turbo charged, more than likely the STS Twin Turbo kit.
Hope to see this get in the $40k price range. ( of coarse being Mecum, the REAL selling price will never be told )

Was on TV this morning, sold for $23,000 but looked to be the normal engine and not supercharged or turbocharged.

SSR Mecum

It was a little confusing..
There were actually two black SSRs on the block.
the first one went for $23 and the second did not sell. Reserve not met. It bid to $25 and that was it.. pulled.
Nice setup there tho. Twin turbo, and performance tranny.
Would like that in my SSR.

Oh, I forgot on the last post.

If you look again it appears the sold price is above the picture. Correct me if I am wrong as someone did not think it sold. The way I see it the turbo charged 2006 with 14.7k miles sold for $27.5k.
Sure as hell beats paying $29k for a very plain 2004 at Barrett Jackson.

Mecum site shows lot J38(2005) turbo auto as selling for $27,500 .. Can that be believed, or will it show up at their next auction ?

That is very strange..
I watched the auction. I watched it come and go.
The bidding got to $25,000 and they drove it off, and above the board it showed $0.
Will rerun again.

That is all I know.
But $27,500 would have been a deal for that truck.
Lets see if it shows up here.

This is only MY opinion, but after seeing the "no reserve" auction last year in Ohio, (the Bob McDorman Collection ) I don't trust Mecum.
Very strange dealings

I don't believe it! WAY too cheap. Hell I wouldn't sell mine for $27,500! Probably wouldn't get it anyway, but still... twin turbo that cheap?

find the buyer, I'll give them $28,500 right now! Just call me!

Several Fanatics were at the auction. The goings on were VERY strange.

I didn't go through the whole docket of Mecum's next auction, but at least 13 McDorman cars, including Signatures 3 and 5, were back at the next auction. The oddity of the Signature trucks was that legit bidders took the trucks to $44000, were bid up to $45000, hammered sold, but showed up at the next auction.

Many of the memorabilia items, including large neon signs and the SSR mock-up had been sold at a prior McDorman memorabilia auction, yet showed up at the November auction for another go-round.

opps last message disappeared. sorry

I was in the middle of this message, and pooffff..

05 Black... Tuesday unknown milage, sold $23,000
05 Black Wednesday 50,000 miles, sold $22,000
05 Black.. Friday..."low miles".. sold $23,000

and the last one in question...
05 Black..Friday.. 14,650 miles,says sold $27,500
But as I say, I watch the auction, and it stalled at $25,000
Beside the new price of $27,500 is..."X BGO"

Anyone know what that means if good.
Charles

There were no '06 listed that I could see.
couple '04s though.

In a Mecum reserve auction, if a vehicle does not meet the reserve price they typically say "Roll it away - the Bid Goes On" The unsold vehicles are then taken to a separate area, where they are still available for sale. Quite possible that a deal was struck in the "Bid Goes On" compound after the on stage bidding had ended. Mecum really wants the sales to complete while they have the opportunity to make some money, so it could have been a combination of Mecum taking lower buyer and seller fees, and the seller accepting a lower than reserve price.

Nope - you didn't do OK.

An FPR with chrome package and carpeted trunk with 6800 miles for that price?

You did awesome!!!

Congratulations on getting a great truck. Permagrin is just beginning.

Next will be finding an event put together by Fanatics. Once you've been to one, you'll be hooked.

Apparently you're planning to stick around a while - already a lifer.

Where are you located?

Between the flatlands and combines in your avatar, I'm guessing mid-west?

In addition most auction houses include a 30 day after the block sale clause. If a car you're interested in didn't sell you can contact the auction company and they will try to facilitate a deal. There will still be commissions involved in this scenario.

P.S. Outstanding buy on the 2006 FPR.....congrats.

Update - based on the serial number quoted on your post on the Build Sheet thread, this truck is not a Final Production unit.

Still a great deal.

The Dicktator was there on Friday in VIP Parking to change a Fan for a NEWBIE, Bob Bulmer. His Fan went out on the way to the Auction and he called me, I had one of Mike in AZ Fans in stock.

Stopped on the way to Jensen Beach Tech Day and save Bob from distress.

Bob took me to lunch, so it was worth it.
