Hello all I am now a very proud owner of a 2006 very low mile red SSR. I will be flying out Saturday to pick it up in Iowa and drive it home to Colorado. I was some what disappointed in the fact that I was having troubles with transport companies and decided it would be a blast to have a road trip right off the bat. I have been lurking on the forum for about ten days and decided to join due to the great posts I have been reading. I am so excited about this car, its hard to express!
Congrats on your purchase! You're going to love it. Welcome to the board. Everone's friendly and has a wealth of knowledge. Have a great, and safe, road trip!!

Welcome to the family. Your drive home will go way to fast and when you get home you'll still have a grin on and looking for excuses to go around the block.
Drive safe.
Thanks for the warm welcome! The SSR has only 330 miles and I paid pretty much premium due to the low miles. I kind of look at it as buying a new car at discount price Most of the reviews I have read are very positive about a fun car and the few negative reviews... well some people would bitch if they had a front seat to the crucifixion. MSN and Time magazine listed the SSR as one of the worst cars ever which made it a must buy for me
Wow, 330 miles, that is new.
Be sure to check the glovebox for a introduction to your new SSR cd, I didn't find mine until I got her home. Tell us more.

It is indeed a nice SSR - 3SS VYJ chrome package, body colour boards, satin gauges and carpeted cargo, pretty much full load. #120/424.
Welcome Patrick!

Welcome from Virginia......sooooo, will you drive it or park it? I guess if you are driving it home it won't be a garage queen. Congratulations, sounds real nice!

Problems and issues with the SSR are few, I have had none, but if you do have a problem talk the the guys on this site before you take it to a mechanic/dealership. These fellas on here know more than GM does!!!

I will drive it every day to work unless it snows or is to sloppy out! I have Yukon for those days. I have been reading the forum looking for issue and I do agree that there is a vast abundance knowledge here!
You should have great weather to travel in on Sat. Might want to hit Ole's Big Game Bar/Restaurant right off the interstate in Paxton, NE (right off the interstate in western NE) on your return for a quick bite and take in Ole's big game trophies.
That place is great! I am stopping in Omaha to show a couple of old buddies the new wheels and prolly stay in North Platte Sat night, pretty good Husker bar across from the Hotel. The Red SSR will fit right in
