"optional tire size" hopeful new baby

I had an '04 transfered from NC to Columbus Ohio (car max) tires did not meet spec and they replaced all 4 with cont. from NTB fronts 235 50 r19 rear 275 45 r 20 --I have been waiting 3 years to pull the trigger ready now but troubled with replacement tires not OE size (claim OE GY not available)
I sold my 1970 442 convt , first car I ever owned. I sold it as a basket case to purchase another dream-- SSR (convt and holds two sets of golf clubs plus)
What if any problems may occur with these tires.
Soon to be DAD ( if not now REAL soon)

The SSR is a heavy truck make sure the load and speed ratings are applicable on your new tires. Personally I would use 275/40-R19 and 295/40-R20 Those sizes should give you a good list of tires to choose from.

Welcome to the group, congratulations on your purchase and future family addition

Yes, the OEM Goodyears are not in production but they were a poor tire to begin with. If you do a search for "tires" on this forum you will find a wealth of knowledge. Changing tire dimensions from OEM is not a big deal as long as you keep similar weight and performance class and keep the resizing within limits. Here are a few threads you can review:

WELCOME, AUTOPROF . . . from Southern Arizona.

Due to the weight and performance of the SSR, tire size and ratings are important. The correct, or slightly larger, size tires are available out there, probably not on every street corner but available nonetheless.

GOOD LUCK and keep an eye on the tire's AGE as well.

Smile optional tire sizes

Thanks to everyone for your input --- The "new tires are cont. 4x4 -- xtra load -- can handle the weight of the big truck --- I will check date codes --- something I tell my students to do but , just plain forgot in all the excitement. I wanted addtional advice, you can never know it all
I guess the bottom line is-- this is not a deal breaker seeing as how they replaced all four tires. I still have an issue with what appeared to be a blend line in the paint on the top left edge of the bed (trunk?)They said they can "rub it out" we will see. I have waited for quite a while -- if not right will go back on market.
My possible purchase is a one owner '04 redline with chrome wheels, carpeted bed, hard bags and 53k miles --- other the the one paint line (no signs of filler or paint work below top bed rail). I have test driven many and admired the SSR since I first saw the concept car @ the Columbus car show stating I would someday own one!
I will let you know if I become a proud pappa on Tuesday
Thanks To All

I replaced my OEM Gy's with General Grabber UHP's.

235/50R-19's on the front and 295/45R-20's on the rear.

My speedo was running 3 MPH below what my GPS was indicating.
THe tuner guy (Joe) adjusted that along with many other things in Flagstaff and all is well now.
