Grieving about Marc's accident and reading the posts, I thought it would good to contact WebElectrics and inquire to see if they have a product developed for the SSR or if the Vette plug in play unit will work.
This is the response I received 2 minutes ago.
"I don't have access to an SSR, so I don't know if I will be able to develop
a P-N-P version for it. Can you take some pictures of the connector? Do
you know if the LED on the SSR is the same as the Corvette?
In my book they are easy. Of course in my book disassembling a car and putting back together is not that hard - just takes time.... Check out Mirror Install Session in Huntington Beach
for some thoughts.
As i stated in Marc's thread "It finally happened to me" where I initially brought up the flashing third brake light, I did purchase the generic switch. With their good instructions and the ability to use a screwdriver, pliers, and the dextarity to twist on a wire nut, just about anyone can install the switch. While plug and play will be nice, if for some reason it isn't or doesn't become available, don't fret because even the generic switch will take less tha 30 minutes to figure out and install.

Wire Nuts should not be used in an automotive application. Please do yourself a favor and go back and use good quality automotive connectors.
For those interested, here's an alternate source for brake flashers that is quite a bit cheaper. Look for the "Blinking Smart Stop with Delay" product for a fraction of the price and similar function. The cost to build is a few dollars, the link below sells them for a reasonable cost.
There are many other dealers as well but make sure that you get the delay feature as a continuous blinking will drive those behind you crazy.

SSR blur is right about that. I agree!
MY wife also sometimes has comments about the nut behind the steering wheel,
but I don't know what she is talking about
I couldn't quite tell from your notes if you have actually installed these on an SSR.
If so, can you provide a few more details about the installation process?
thanks!
Hi,
Sorry to be a little vauge but I have not gotten one yet. I hope to get an order on soon because I am always "thinking" about it with the SSR and other toys. Installations are mostly all the same, cut the power wire leading to the third brake light and wire the two wires of the unit to the two ends of the wire you cut. There will be a third wire on the unit that you connect to ground. If you purchase the Corvette model (and if it fits) all you need to do is unplug the connector that leads to the lamp and plug this module in the middle of it.
Now you could always buy the generic kit and buy a female and male plug and make your own SSR plug kit if it is different. Someone needs to take apart thier plug to see if it is the same as the Corvette before people order that one. The generic one they offer and the one I posted just have wires on them, no plugs. Hope this helps.........
My SSR: '05 Concept Truck, powered by Heavy Duty rubberbands, and a really BIG WINDUP KEY!
I have those pulsating brake lights on my motorcycle, and they really do get a persons attention. Of course I also have the oscillating head light, that flashes from brights to low beam while I ride. But that is only in the day time. At night the electric eye changes the lights back to regular high beam, low beam.
The relay installs inside the tailgate, Just remove the tailgate carpet, and remove the metal access plate. You can tie wrap the relay to the harness. It's very small and light
I found some online install instructions & photos for their C5 version. I'm going to go out and take my tailgate apart and see if it's the same connector? I'll take photos of it as I go, so that members may see the tailgate apart.
Here's the C5 photos and please note, their online Generic instructions says to use "WIRE NUTS".
Photos 1 & 2 are from the back of a Yellow C5 Vette. Photo 3 is the Generic BLP module.

D-rings unscrew. Carpet is velcroed on. 9 T30 Torx head screws to remove the cover plate. Note that they have Loctite on them. Outer two empty holes on the plate are for the tailgate D-rings.
Here's photos of the tailgate as I took the cover plate off and of the back side of the 3rd brake light & it's connector. Can anyone tell if the C5 connector above(photo 1) is the same as the SSR's? The only connection is at the back of the light. The rest is foam covered wiring that runs into the left tailgate hinge.
I'm not into wiring, so how does the yellow & black wiring on the SSR connector correlate to the red & white wiring on the Generic Pulser module?
