Received a Discount Tires "Important Customer Safety Advisory"

It warns me that every car that I have had them work on (includes theSSR)needs to have the valve stems replaced because of cracking that may cause the tire to lose air. It says the stems were supplied by Drill Air Controls , I don't know if these stems are used nationwide or only regional. Anyone else get this letter?

They list a website Valve Stem Advisory - Discount Tire Co. for more info.

s a big recall on the stems seems like they didnt put in the uv protectnt when making the rubber so it rots very fast. be brave and just go with metal stems they are the only way to go anyways.

Recall of millions of stems has been going on awhile. See the 8/05 thread, "Valve stems and air pressure" for more. Recall.gov
