retro tailgates.......
I know several of you have mentioned that you wanted one of those tailgates, maybe it can happen.
I'm kickin' the idea around about building a limited # of them. I would require your gate as a core in return for the altered part.
Any interest?

To see the finished product, go to the 03toa53 thread. Click on the link by umpire13. Photos of the gate are in the last few pages.
Pricing has yet to be thought out. I know what it takes time wise to build one. Parts are still being looked into.

I would be interested, but I like to know the price first.
I'd also like to see about having some type of solenoid added to the tailgate so that I can open just the tailgate without opening the rear lid.

I'd be interested, but of course it would depend on price. Would it be painted?

A firm price would be easier than trying to find an old Chevy tailgate.....that's what keeps me away.

retro-gates
Guys,
I have one 70% complete and could have it ready to ship in a couple weeks. It would be in primer but painting is an option. Painted parts take longer to ship because we want to be sure that it is cured completly. Too soon and it may have a printing issue from the packaging materials.
I just finished one for a client in Texas and I wish I could be there when he opens the box. It is awesome! He had a couple things done different that really set it apart and make it one of a kind custom.
Lots of options with these gates, just use your imagination and it can be reality.

Wow
Received a shipment from Scott today. Couldn't wait to get home. Opened the crate. Now I don't want to go to work tomorrow. This is a product of true artists...
I know what I'm going to be doing Saturday when I get down to my SSR. This ought to get Umpire13 to get his gate painted.
Here is a tease.
