Sig 5 is back on the block - losing track of how many times Mecum has had it at one of its auctions. Each time, it fell short of the second highest bit at McDormans last November.
It is Lot T114, Thursday, October 6th.
When we saw the truck at McDormans, it was in very good condition, well documented, complete with the scrapbook and the ellusive pewter, as well as posters, autographed videos, etc.
It should be in the hands of a Fanatic somewhere. I suspect after several no sales, that Mecum will set a lower reserve on it.
Predictions on selling price?

Should be $43k but anyone following the BS with the Mecum auction should not even consider buying or selling anything through that company.
Mecum had a "real" bid at $44K for Signature 5 at McDormans, and it was bumped to and "sold" for 45K, possibly anticipating the bidding would continue to the range Signature 4 sold for. If so, the auction group got stiffed by a buying group more astute than they were.
Assuming they have no commission costs, and still got whatever was agreed to as a commission from McDorman on the original sale, by the time you factor in moving the truck to several auction sites and detailing it prior to each sale, they are into the truck for a pretty good chunk by now.
All they can recoup now is the buyer's commission on whatever the truck sells for.
My guess is they would have a reseve of $40K on it, and the truck will roll off into the sunset again - The Bid Goes On
