A Small Group We Are

I just completed my summer vacation travels. I logged about 6,000 miles. I saw only two R's both were Slingshot Yellow. In that 6,000 miles I traveled to Wichita for the GTO national meet, to Carmel IN for my HS reunion, to Onstead, MI for my wife's reunion, to Rapid City SD for a dinosaur dig with my Grandson in Red, and finally to The Woodlands, TX with a stop over in Bryant, AR. Red only went on two trips Carmel IN and Rapid City, SD. I took different routes coming and going to Rapid City and The Woodlands. You would think I would have sighted more SSR's. We are such a small elite group and we probably do not take our trucks out all the time. I am not complaining, it is just a observation.

There are many SSR's in my Town. But not many Fanatics. Only three that I know of.

On our recent trip to Colorado, we only saw one other SSR till we got to the rally. It was another redline going east on I-70 near St Louis...we were going west...he didn't see us wave.

Steve (husband) sees them daily in the rig & route he drives and always is sure to tell me about them there have been many trips I've taken where I didn't see a one either (even on nice days). But then again sometimes I don't see them anywhere around my neighborhood either and hell they were made here! I've made this observation many times....questioning "WOW I didn't see a one SSR" while out.....BUMMER!

I have not seen one in my normal commute in the 6 weeks since we bought our . This morning I saw a with the top down on I-75 in Plano, TX.

On my drive home, my wife called to say she saw a / on her way home (George Bush Turnpike in Carrollton).

As I was telling her of my sighting this morning, another was headed south at the same spot on I-75 with the top up.

Or was it the same one...

we did 9States and 2 Provinces over 6.200 MI and only saw 4 SSR's on-the road.
first was in SFO at our Hotel (Redline from Tuscon) the next was in BC (yellow IndyCar going West), and a Red in New Mexico going North towards Colorado Springs. Technically, we saw the FIRST one (AquaBlur) taiol going West on a Farm Road at 120+MPH, thanks to MoodyBlue.....
Maybe it's the time of year we leave on our vacations that we Never See
Another SSR on the road! I don't know, but, If you Ever leave on a vacation....Post Your Itenerary.... You'll Meet THE NICEST Folks On-the Way.....

Since March, when I became really focussed on SSR's, I have seen:
  • 1 driving in Kitchener (top up on a gorgeous day)
  • 1 at a show in Alliston (not a computer guy, but hands his wallet to Dicktator)
  • 1 at a GTO show (not showing...)
  • 1 driving in Bolton (chased him down and exchanged cards...)
And that is it!

There must be more around, but I sure haven't seen them...unless you count the rainbow of colours we saw in Niagara Falls:

I doubt if I will make the cruise. Sorry but I know Labor Day Weekend I will be free. Is there any cruises you all are going to be at?
