Sneak Peek Of New Mpd Hood

Just received the enclosed pic of my new hood that was just completed by Eric at MPD. If you look closely you will see something different.

Finally the younger twin will be getting her very own face lift. She should be ready to make her grand entrance in about 10 days if everything arrives on time.

Thanks Eric for the great work and timely delivery. Cant wait to see the finished hood in YELLOW Enclosed picture is in prime.

You can always put off the painting for another few weeks and I am sure if you ask Eric, he would be more then willing to make you one.

I am seriously thinking of selling my first hood from Eric and having him make me a second. I can just see the sisters fighting in the garage after the light are turne out and they have been put to sleep for the night. I have always tried to treat them the same. I could be in trouble now--

MPD did away with the Chevrolet nameplate. He filled in that area with glass. No more seams to collect dirt. I think it is a much cleaner look. will look even better painted.

a haa. I couldn't see the forest for the trees. I was looking and looking at the scoop.
Thats going to look great finished! Considering what it would cost to fill in and repaint the stock hood to eliminate the the plaque, it makes the MPD hood seem even more like a good choice to me.

I believe this topic is making some think that I am building all our hoods this way. This was a special project that we did for bc bear. How many of you would much rather have your hood without the front emblem? It really does clean up the front of the truck IMO.

If I do make the plunge for the hood I would want it w/o the emblem. In fact I was thinking of inquiring about it before this thread showed up.

Be happy to help! I am almost tempted to retool to eliminate the emblem. I would think there are as many that like it with as without. Any and all feedback would be appreciated here.

All I am really looking for here is opinions on the front emblem, not the hood scoop design.

Eric On the thread regarding a modified front chevron by tommydesign, a number of people were desiriing a smoothed over emblem also. So I think that having the hood made without any emblem at all would also appeal to them. It will be interesting to see how this develops over the next few days.

.... I like it with the emblem. Personally I think it looks more retro with it.

I guess it boils down to how far you want to Mod this truck.... maybe if you were doing a complete new front facia from tommyz , somebody or doing your own, I would remove the emblem.

I think there is market for both hoods with or without. Not at all an expert, but I think a hood with the option to fill (or cut out and finish edges) in the emblem area with a fiber glass insert would not be impossible. Certainly the fiberglass should be easy to do that with??? Obviously this would be extra work. Eric you are the expert in this.
