Some newbie questions from a comming ssr-owner.

Hi,

I have decided to get myselves a ssr either silver, blue or black. but have some questions I know you guys can help me with.

Reason for this is that Im from Denmark, planning on buying a ssr in the US then ship it to Denmark after loading some tires/wheels in the trunk..(cheaper in the US). I dont need a supercharged model. just after searching the net it has to be a final-production-run model and loaded with xtras.

first question..whats the Bolt Circle and Backspacing originally on a ssr?

2nd question: what exhaust shall I get to get a nice crisp v8-sound and still be able to talk in the cabin.

final Question: any better place to look for a ssr than ebay? (dont like it there)

Cheers

Do a search on this site. I'm sure it's posted.

2nd question: what exhaust shall I get to get a nice crisp v8-sound and still be able to talk in the cabin.

Search on exhaust - lot's different opinions.....

Try craigslist, autotrader, this site. For an FPR a little patience will help as well.

Exhaust tones are a personal choice. You must listen to the system to decide if it's for you.
I have a Magnaflow. It barks. It's aggressive.

My exhaust is stock and sounds good. I think the noise outside just barely keeps the Traffic Cops from giving me a ticket here in California.
The smallest wheel size I would go with would be 17". you really can't go smaller as your Brake Calipers would not clear. The offset is about 2" outside front and back and you can go to 8" inset for the front and 10'' inset for the back. I have put 17" Stock Buick Raineir Wheels on the SSR. Just to see if they fit. They also have the standard Truck and SUV 6 lug patern and have mostly 7"--8" inset

Anders,
Congrats on wanting to join us as a fellow SSR owner! You'll love the Ride!

First question I don't know... As for the exhaust I have a Flowmaster Super44... LOVE it! Nice growl and not too loud on the freeway. As for where to buy??? Watch here... this is a great place to monitor what's for sale... nothing gets by this group and they will help you make decisions too. TONS of knowledgeable members here. Otherwise, I prefer Auto Trader. EBay seems to have too many scams anymore.

Good luck in your search and don't be a stranger... maybe I'll look you up the next time I'm in Europe! Ciao! Michael

Those wheels you linked to won't work. It's 6 lugs on a 5 inch circle.

Aloha Anders and Welcome!

Yes, sidewall height and Tire outside diameter. My apologies, I cut and pasted the info from another page.
