Your inside handle is failing.
There is a TSB on this, take it to the dealer to have handle mechanism replaced with the thicker one.

Good Luck

Thumbs up

TSB also states for the dealership to fix both doors at the same time....

do you think with just 2400 miles & turning 4 years old next month that could be the problem . Its out of warranty. What do you think it will cost to repair?
Thanks

Yes it could be the problem because all you really have to do is yank and twist it hard one time.

Here are the instructions if you want to attempt it yourself:

Mine had the same symptoms and it failed a few days ago. Mileage doesn't matter. I had approx 54,700 mi on my "R" when it failed.

Took the R in to get the interior handles replaced according to the TSB on it & they wanted $380 + to do the work. Isn'there a GM /dealer program where they particpate in the cost?Icidently the service man said that is not the problem , it could be just a lubrication problem since it has'nt done it again!

Others have reported that it sporadically happened before total failure. It could depend on how hard you pull and if you twist at all.
