Since we've been working on a digital cluster for SSR it was a good time to
do a small pet project - probably a gift idea for an SSR owner.
This wall clock looks like an SSR cluster, but the three areas are occupied by Hour, Minute and Second watch dials recpectively. Three AA bateries required, because we used three seperate quartz motors. Those are made in US.
The clock is about a size of actual cluster and cast out of plastic
Custom designed clock faces will be also possible, maybe with pics of one's SSR. Vin derivative, or SSR colors, ect.
I'll hang mine in the shop.. :-)
here is a pic of a basic version [EDITED: for $99 + S&H-need ZiP]:
by the way, the bezel is silver, somewht like the original cluster, it's just on the pic it may appear white.

WAY TO GO, George . . . you've hit BINGO on this one.
As an alternative to the "three faced clock" . . . did you consider a "standard" clock in the center with a temperature gauge on one side and something else on the other?
Either way . . . HOW MUCH, I want one in Slingshot Yellow?

Maybe humidity on the other, or indoor temp and outdoor temp. I think I need one for the garage. Doophus and I want yellow faces.....
price - I can build the basic one , as shown for $99. S&H depends on ZIP.
Try to reply to all comments, and thanks for them!
YELLOW DZH - [George I will take one, let me know how much and when can I get it in YELLOW!] Dave, we'll get this done, please PM me - did you want yelloe gauge faces or yellow bezel?

Yes, alternatevlay I though we could put say temp gauge on the left and barometer on the right, or - we can use backward clock motors, I mean oportunities are endless almost, I must say though where the basic version requires three clock motors at $8 each + about $10 in plastic + about $20 in printing and laminating costs ( $54 in materials) and the rest $45 for labor,
gauges like temerature and barometric pressure cost more .
As far as color goes - please PM me if it for the gauge faces or the bezel, :-)
River_rat, same question - yellow as in gauge faces or color of bezel?
And the different gauges will require more $, 'cause they do cost more..
Plese PM with particular requirement, Thanks!
FOCKS, beer gauges can be put in, but we'll need to create a whole new housng, about three times bigger so that you can monitor them ;_)
Toon Town Truck, Vavoom, please PM, the price is $99.
Rogerdodger, that i cannot do, you'll have to use the right foot for those sound effects!
Beach potato; [I will have an Aqua Blur please. How to do custom photos?]
I would suggest e-mailing me the pics - zzrstudio@hotmail.com
and let me Photoshop them in the way you describe, once we work out the layout, we can get the faces made,
Thanks again for the Positive reaction, hopefully we'll get to make some clocksters.
Well, i'm kind of proud to say the first one is delivered, Yellow DZH
got the very first one. he wanted the custom paint on the bezel - no surprize - Slignshot Yellow. Hope it helps Dave to break up the temporary immobilty induced boredom, here is the pic of his clockster.
This little project is a bit out of norm for my own thinking, it's more of a novelty item, there is some utility to it I guess -keeping ther time, but heck,
these days phones, TVs and radios, and just about anything with some power source to it will give you the time.
Well maybe, we can flip it a bit and say, that if you happen to be away from you Rod for some reason,
this clock will remind you of how it looks inside the cockpit..
On the other side, this project is a step forward to making a custom SSR cluser. I had to dismental a perfectly good SSR cluster for this, so we may as well take it step fruther and keep cutting things,
the aim being a digital ( or analog) custom clusetr for SSR.
As we speak I started modifying the remains of the donor cluster and in a short while we'll see what the possibilities are.
Do not forget to get your order in for the clock though,,
Christmas is near, these thin9s are hand made,(takes time to build)
first come first served:-)
George, thanks for delivering the SSR Clock yesterday to me. WOW! it is better than I had expected. The quality is outstanding and the paint is perfect. Once again you have out done yourself. Susan saw it and wanted to know why I took the instrument panel out of the SSR. That should tell you something.
Clark (Basement Rat) came by and saw it and really like it. So maybe he will take number 2
One more shipped, Silver of cource for Dicktator,
Thanks!! By the way, Dicktator Sir, hope you got the tracking through PM, because one I sent to e-mail came back "Postmaster" said e-mail could not be delivered.

George, I am going to need another clock. Will you make this one in silver. I put check into the mail today. Let me know when you get it and when it will be ready. Maybe by then I will have this cast off and I will drive out and pick it up. Thanks again and keep the good work up.

George, awesome job. Got my clock this morning from the wife, very nice Christmas surprise. She said thanks for the extra effort, you should number and sign them. Quite a piece of art. Thanks again, Harv Shell
