The SSR Drag Truck has come to a screeching halt!

After some great feedback from some fellow fanatics, we have stopped paint on the SSR Drag Truck. They were saying the same thing I was thinking. The scheme sucked. So we start over. This, boys and girls, is part of being a one-off car builder. We are working to find a scheme that works for this truck.

I was interested in seeing the final product and think you were on the right track. The sunburst orange is FANTASTIC, maybe more of a subtle ghost flame approach might make it better instead of an "in your face" approach??

Up close and personal, I agree.
But this is a Drag-Truck, unlike a show truck, most people will see it from a hundred, maybe two hundred feet away.
It's like a billboard, subtle details don't get seen at all, on the track.

The front end was (is) cool, but the design on the doors didn't work for me.

Just my 2 cents.

flamer

Just one persons opinion ... Drag car, race car, real hot hotrods are never subtle. The paint impact sets the mood and are remembered easily. Personal cars, street muscle, or cars you see every day can be subtle; you will not tire of the look so fast.

On this gofast machine, color was o.k. for me, it was the shape of the flame licks …. They where just laid out a little off for my taste.

For flames, I like old school style. My buddy will fly in mask them off, squirt and leave ...
Ron Gibbs Flames

The black SSR is one he did for SEMA three years ago. Just a thought if you stick with flames. He has some awsome graphics also. But please please yourself.

This is about as subtle as I would go with a drag car, you can almost see the flames as being 3D.
A sample of money under flame cutout, just throwing ideas at you. Tiedie shirt design?
And for a crowd Pleaser, you can't miss if you come up with a stars and stripes design.
Just ask Marty.

Note: If you want prime attention, you need bold color contrast with alot of coverage on the whole truck.
At Niagara we SSR's all parked along a roadway. I was two trucks from Marty.
Everyone would walk up to Marty's truck first, look and put their vote down on the slip before ever looking at any other trucks. Marty got the attention first. "And well deserved attention"
