Please, No PM's to request pins!

My pm mailbox is limited in size.

I'm sorry that I have to do it this way, but PM's requesting pins will be discarded without action.

Please use the email address listed in the announcment.

Bed Time again

no more pins tonight.

Some Notes:
There are a total of 85 pins to date.
Some pins overlap, zoom in.
Colors: Yes, even icons, but I haven't figured out how to add the coding yet.

Again: Do not send PM's (no Space). Like wise for posts in this thread.
Gmail lets me keep track of which pins I've taken care of by the read status.

BTW: If there are any Fanatics that would like Gmail invites, I have a bunch to hand out. Make that request to gkbeer@gmail.com too.

Beer, does this mean you did or did not get the locations from us in the other threads. I don't want to overload you if you already have those! Thanks for the hard work. Also do you want more info besides our names and location?

Sorry about that. I do recall looking at that more than once to be sure it was right. Fixed now.

bed time again

That's it for tonight. Send your pin requests any time.

Marc, You asked how long it takes to add just one pin. It really is only a couple of minuets.

Tonight, I took 3 hours to add 14 pins and correct a couple. But then I usually do this while watching TV, so...

Exclamation Paranoia strikes deep

I noticed that a lot of us are listing actual street addresses. I sure hope there aren't any potential SSR thieves out there thinking "Hey, thanks for the directions, folks!"...

Beer,

Thanks for your effort. You have done a wonderful job. Very professional. There's even a shadow on the map when your name pops up. Very cool!

Good point bluish. Some of the guys and gals have written a book. I think in this case, the less information the better.

I suppose I could have mentioned I am also a life time member of NRA, and since I am from Texas I guess I just figured that potential thieves, would not be foolish enough to test my resolve. I readily admit that I could be wrong.

Beer, thanks for all your work on this. I really appreciate it, as I am sure everyone else does.

Had to resize the map to include Kevin in Hawaii. Could have zoomed it out instead.
If the Hybrid mode is too slow for dial-up, let me know that it's a problem, I'll set it back to map mode as a default. gkbeer@gmail.com

Thumbs up Thanks!

Thanks Glenn,

The first time I opened the map and didn't see the Hawaiian island chain I thought that maybe we had been overlooked as part of the Continental United States! Fortunately, found the minus (-) button to adjust the size.

Great map!! Amazing to zoom in on an address or street in only about 8-10 mouse clicks from the view of the entire planet!

Strong work, Glenn !

All the hard stuff is Google's work. They make it easy. I just put the pins in. They even explain how.

Wildcat, I don't know why you are having problems. I do know that Google maps does not work with IE version 5.0 or earlier. Also I believe that javascript has to be enabled.

Geocoder.us can be used to find the Map Location I need in order to add a pin. Go to this link and enter your address.

Talking Do you know that OPERA is now free?

That Google map gives me some problems using Win 98se and IE 6.0. but I don't seem to get the same lockups on my system if I use that newly free OPERA browser !
