Beer, does this mean you did or did not get the locations from us in the other threads. I don't want to overload you if you already have those! Thanks for the hard work. Also do you want more info besides our names and location?
It means that I only post pins for people who comply with the instructions, in the announcement, at the top of this thread. Those instructions have been edited a couple of times since first being posted.
Only requests sent to gkbeer@gmail.com will be honored.
If any have sent a PM, or made a request via a post in SSRFanatic, it's been ignored.
1. My PM mail box is to small to handle the volume.
2. I don't seem to have enough time to read everything since starting this.
3. It lets me keep track of which requests have been cared for, and to quickly ask for clarifications.
I also sent my info to Fuzzy for the volunteer list. Are we still being added or do I need to send the info to you beer100?
I have Fuzzy's info EXCEPT that it DOES NOT include the map location (Latitude and Longitude) for the pin. I need that, and it's counterproductive for me to find that bit of info.
I cannot take it for granted that everyone in Fuzzy's list desires to be located on the pinmap or that they want all of Fuzzy's data on the map. If it is clear to me that the requestor is one of the FBoMF "Fuzzy's Band o' Merry Fellows" I'll inticate that.
That Google map gives me some problems using Win 98se and IE 6.0. but I don't seem to get the same lockups on my system if I use that newly free OPERA browser !
I know it works under XP with IE6.0 and FireFox 1.0.6 or .7

Buffy, I like the way you copied and filled all this in. But as I've been reminding all comers. It needs to be sent as an email to gkbeer@gmail.com. I use the read status of the pinmap emails to keep track of what requests have or have not been fulfilled. I can't do that with the forums.
PS. I guess you haven't seen the PM I sent earlier this morning.
The map has been updated to show colored dots in place of the standard pins. Colors follow those specified when each owner requested a pin. All others have been set to white. I still need to create an Aqua icon, it's just that I'm not quite sure what that color is.
My SSR: '04 Purple (Penelope)#3438 1st '04 Production UV and '06 blue over silver auto, #22851 #5 0f 32
Glenn,
Could you also change my pin color from white to Purple. Have waited because I didn't know if you were done with all the inputs or not.
You've done a sterling job creating this board for us.
I still see many familiar posters missing on the map....ie wildcat66, PCBeach, DIGITAL, 1HOT12C, TAHOEJOE, AND ddprice. Come out of your foxholes and give us your position.
Some of it may be the new colored icons. I'm not quite sure where the icon images are served from. I suspect they are coming to you from comcast instead of google. That is one factor.
Also I recently doubled the number of pins in an attempt to make the pins show properly when the map is zoomed to a world view. When the date line shows and it is just a bit too far right, all the pins disappear. They arn't gone, just off the page to the right on the next panel of the map. I'm still looking for alternate (faster) solutions.
If the map is zoomed out far enough you see multiple panels, divided at the dateline. By defualt, Google only puts markers on one panel, the one that holds the center of the map window. When the date line scrolls past the middle of the window all the markers jump to that panel.
I've been reworking the map's javascript. It should load all at once now. But I'm seeing some other problems.Hybrid mode on IE seems to be broken.
In IE 6.0, once the map is loaded a refresh is extra slow, while clicking on a favorite to reload is fast.
Ok, it's not my code. I've found out that Google is in the process of updating "how things work". IE is failing to render the various layers of the map correctly in Hybrid mode. The state lines and such are there, just under the opaque satellite image tiles.
