For Those interested in doing a restoration.......

HOTROD Magazine has DVD Program that is a Step-by-step by experts that take junk-yard dogs to car show quality. They sent me the introductory DVD titled "Complete Bodywork and Sheetmetal Preparation". Very informative, it does do it step by step. I learned a lot by watching it. The most important thing I learned is that I never want to start a project like they showed, dis-assembly and repair of a '70 Chevelle, spot welding, butt welding, tack welding, replacing belly pans, the tools needed and how to use them.

As I said I would never attempt this type of project at my age, I want to drive them, not work on them, and if I do work on them it will be bolt on projects. But if I become interested in buying a hot rod that has been or needs to be rebuilt, I will have some knowledge of what to look for when I am inspecting the car.

But if you are interested, this really is a quality program for a relatively small cost. They have the DVD I watched and "Quarter Panel, Wheelhouse & Trunk Floor" available now with more coming. The Program is called "Dream-Build-Drive DVD Library". The contact number for Cusotmer Service is 1-866-730-0855.

I received one too. I did not like that the way they just sent it and told me I was signed up. Then they expect you to send the unrequested disc back to quit the program. Why should I have to do that? I didn't order it. I wish I could just sign people up and expect them to send me money each month.

I did watch it and it was OK. I learn I was doing most of what I was doing correctly. I did pick up a tip or two.

Yeah, that was my first reaction.......

Yeah, that was my first reaction but when I thought about it, one- I never would have ordered it to look at it, so I would not had the opportunity to enjoy it and learn a few things for free. Two- I really enjoy the Power Tour. Three- I really enjoy the magazine, Four- they provided a postage free, self addressed envelope to mail the DVD back and a form that only required a check mark.

And five, I think I owe them an indiscretion or two for all the times that I read their magazine and dreamed, and then put it back on the shelve at the drugstore because I could not afford the magazine, much less the hotrod.
