...
Maybe this will sound backward... but I live in SoCal.. In winter as long as its not raining... usually down... summer usually up... need the A/C or I get cranky!!!
REBEL...I guess we don't count...could we possibly be non-respondents?
Whoops!
Sorry
I must of scanned thru the posts to quickly..
If I end up buying an SSR I would imagine that the top will be up most of the time. My memories from previous verts was:
to hot or to cold or passenger complaining about it being to windy
At any rate it would be nice to have the option for top down driving under ideal conditions.
Scott
Raymie,
Your the first respondent that keeps the top up most the time.
Until about 3 years ago all my toys had to be verts.
It finally dawned on me that rarely in Northern Indiana is the weather perfect for top down cruising. And I really don't care for the look or road noise of a vert with the top up. Consequently I have not owned a convertible for more than 3 years. I have to admit that I do miss the top down feeling when the conditions are ideal.
It seems to me that the SSR with its retractable hardtop offers the best of both worlds...
The reasons to buy an SSR are starting to add up.
Scott
The retractable hard top is the best! I like how I can drop the top while waiting for the stoplight to change. The factory wind screen helps to cut down on the wind quite a bit. I'm saving up my pennies so I can buy a WindsupressR one of these days. They are sweet!!!
If you don't have acid rain, golf-ball-sized hail, bird droppings or 137-degree heat, why would you put the top up? The styling is nice with the top up, but anybody can drive Grandma's Hupmobile! Top down cruising is absolutely required!! Okay, I'm sure I've offended someone. Lawd knows I've tried!

Possibly at night in the dark, under clear sky with stars out, in the heat of August, the top might go down where no one can see it. Or if Brenda has been eating beans.
For me the roof line is what makes the truck.
Poor Ed ... please NO beans here too.
I do like the looks of the SSR better with the top up ... but again I do enjoy driving with the top down too.
If my wife comes along it is usually 95% top down for her.
