Thumbs up Traded for a Prowler

Well, I did it. I got the urge to trade my SSR off for a Prowler (2001 Blue with only 5,000 miles on it). I have always loved the looks of them. I don't have the garage space or the time to drive two toys. I will surely miss the SSR, as it is the first vehicle that I have gotten rid of that I still REALLY liked! I will certainly miss the V-8 sound, the power roof and the storage space, but will make do. I will also miss the fine folks here on this forum, but I will stop in occasionally to see what is going. I really enjoy reading the OFF TOPIC thread
& will probably continue to do so.
See ya around. It's been fun!!

I had a '99 chrysler with the same powertrain. Nice car but the electrical issues were terrible. 2:00AM 75mph on the freeway and loss of all electrical, LIGHTS ETC. multiple issues etc...

I also like the "look" of the prowler, but I don't think I could part with .

...You'll be back.

Congrats! My brother has one customized and he loves it. He does like the R and space to carry things but wants his Prowler. Good luck and keep in touch, TRIPL G

If you had to trade - the Prowler is a good choice. Both totally different vehicles.

What? No pictures of your proud purchase? No testimony about how much you like the Prowler? Are you already in the market for another R??

Hey - I did just the opposite 2 years ago - sold my Prowler and bought a custom SSR. Love both of them. The Prowler had 151K miles on it and was tons of fun to drive for 5 1/2 years. The SSR is a more practical daily driver for me, plus I love the V8 and shifting gears. Also I don't need nitrous and a stroker motor to make it go fast.

Have fun - the Prowler forums have a bunch of great people too!

As a daily driver???

You actually drove a Prowler for 151k miles? As a regular car?

I drove one for a test drive around the block with the top down. It's a neat car. Rude to drive and ride in, but fun nonetheless - just a bit too much so to be my daily driver.

I had a prowler. Should have drove it first. Would have never traded for it. Worse, yes I said worse highway vehicle I have ever owned. Above 70 MPH, jumped every which away, but straight.

Just get both like me. I have had my Prowler since 2005, and this year got the matching SSR. I love the way the Prowler looks, definitely not a daily driver. Now the SSR is a daily driver, more practical, love the v8 and 6 speed manual. The SSR and Prowler are 2 factory retro hot rods that in 30-40 years everyone will want. They are what people try to build--resto rods, but came from the factory!!
