SALVAGE TITLE MD 9/2012

This one got a double whammy - Salvage Title due to an accident in 8/12 but got caught in flood water during Hurricane Sandy in October.
On some of these "wrecks" where the damage visually does not appear too severe, does it seem like the ins companies are totalling these? The recent Sept 12- UV with front end damage looks it could have been fixed at a body shop. No visual air bag deployment and mostly hood/fender, lower fascia damage.

Many of the SALVAGE Titles are coming back as REBUILT Titles. I am in the process of running carfaxes on the ones I have in Post 1 to determine current title status but it is going to take a while.
This is why it is such a difficult question to answer when someone asks how many we have lost. I believe the percentage is miniscule, probably well under 5% but no real proof. Someone commented I only began this about 3 years ago but I have dug back everywhere I can, confirmed what GM wrecked, what went through the largest salvage companies including Schram and CPAP and I only have about 360 titles, some of those back on the road. For sure there are quite a few I haven't caught, but I can't imagine it could be that large a number.

I have had both of these for some time listed as JUNK TITLE but I saw the 06 come up for sale with the original VIN listed in the ad but with a declaration that it is an ASSEMBLED TITLE registered in Michigan as MI0496A189K090806
I phoned Reed Schram who told me the story behind this one
6B122221 was flood damaged on dealer lot and was SCRAP Titled. The body had to be separated from the frame and parted out.
5B119373 was a damaged SSR that had a sound frame and power train. The "new" body was placed on the '05 frame and sold with the ASSEMBLED TITLE.
Thought I should add - both 1GCES14H66B122221 & 1GCES14H55B119373 are still JUNK or SCRAP Titles, are not legal titles and are deleted from the official SSR VIN sequence. - Lost 2 VIN Titles and 2 SSR's but gained one nice SSR back, just with an odd VIN.

CERTIFICATE of TITLE - SC 11/2012
This was listed as a Total Loss vehicle 3/2007 with the same mileage it shows today (25.8k).
It was titled to the insurance company, and 5.5 years later has been structurally repaired it would seem just requiring paint.
I am not sure what the designation is exactly but will place it as a REBUILT TITLE for now.

FLOOD TITLE NJ 11/2012
Another Hurricane Sandy victim I guess. We had members checking on this one - nice fully loaded low-miler for sale @ Tom Henry Auto in PA with only 9.6k - 9/12 - someone must have bought it to be flooded in NJ.
Just got the latest High Performance Pontiac (March 2013). On page 18 the story titled Judge Junior is a story about a 1995 Sunbird cloned into a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge. The engine used is a LS2 from a 2005 SSR. I thought it might be of some interest to some members. It obviously includes 69 Judge parts, but also a 1995 S-10 front frame stub and parts from 03 GMC Sierra. The car is from Quebec, Canada.

142k mi - says left side damage which I can't really see.
Looks like an opportunity to get into a nicely appointed 6sp hi-miler with branded title at very low cost.
It did not show a picture of the cargo bed but C9 build sheet shows carpeted.
