I don't know what thread rating is and why only some sections seem to have it. It has been around for a while SINCE AT LEAST last SEPTEMBER. So it NOT a dascrow thing.
And again...any comments for dascrow should be PM'd to him because he doesn't generally read threads here.
I guess since only 2 threads have been rated ever that it is useless for this forum. I will PM dascrow to see if he would like to remove it.
As for Linkbacks....I tried to figure out what they were a couple of months ago...and I couldn't
So if anyone else knows, fill us in.

Oh...permalink: If you want to give someone a link to a thread, but you want the link to point to a certain post in that thread, you can grab the permalink. If done right, when the other person clicks on your link, it will open the thread and move the window to the post that you permalink'd.
If you didn't have that, you'd have to link the thread, which would go to post #1 and they'd have to search for the post....or you'd link the post and they'd have to back up to the thread to read other posts.
Was that confusing enough...

As mentioned the ratings were something in place before we took ownership of the site and is also a default setting of Vbulletin. I have disabled this "feature" in every section now.
