Where is your GPS located?
Whle in the R today I was looking for a place to put the GPS. I was wondering how others who have it have mounted it. I really didn't want to stick that circle to the middle of the dash. Pics if ya got them.

I mounted mine with suction cup mount on left corner of winshield out of sight-line just above state inspection/registration stickers. I'll look for pics and modify this post if I have them.

I Mount Mine Up On The Left Side Of The Mirror Pointing To Me.i Tried It Down On The Console But It Was Too Much Looking Down And Then Found Out The Better Half Could See The Speed We Were Doing, not Good!

Mine is mounted with the suction cup as low as I can just left of the Light-in-Sight I have mounted center. The Lower left windshield spot has the backup cam monitor. I will look for pictures. I am sure I have some.

Reason: add pictures
I put mine in front of the radio on the ledge. I use 3 small balls of poster stickem to secure to the buttons of the radio. One goes on the "audio type" button, (that angles the face toward the driver) and 2 on the left side of the gps. The stickum is reuseable, rolls off the gps and radio when not in use. It has not come off under hard acceleration yet. Also the wire goes straight down, and I stick the excess under the dash. Works great.

Mine is on the lower console in front of the shifter and aimed to the driver... Rebecca can't see it that way Works perfect for me as I don't look at it... just listen to the Aussie talk to me.

In my F250 I have it clipped to the vent on the right side of the steering wheel... Had one stolen from the windshield in the lower left corner Too tempting, I guess. I too am interested in peoples solutions...
Seems to me I read that certain states forbid you to have anything attached to the windshield. I think Michigan was one. I have seen a non-slip ring that you connect your suction cup to, then leave on the dash, but with the limited cabin storage in the R, I'm not sure that is viable?

California prohibits atachment to the windshield by suction cup. I am risking it with the GPS, but the backup cam monitor is mounted with a mirror shoe which is glued.

Same here, dead center, suction mount to the glass with an open view line forward, between GPS unit and rearview mirror. That way, I can have the passenger enter destinations and such without me having to.
No law against windshield mounts in Michigan, at least no police have pulled me over yet, and I've been transferring the unit back and forth between vehicles for 3 years now.

Have mine located on the center console just ahead and left of the gear shifter. Its somewhat out of view from potential thieves and its out of the sunlight so it won't overheat when I'm parked. Another benefit I noticed when traveling with the top down in the daytime, its much easier to see as its down lower in the darker part of the cabin.

I have one of these I move from car to car. Amazon.com: Garmin Portable Friction Mount: Electronics My "R" has a built in unit now, but this works great and stays in place well. It only slid once when I had to slam on the brakes for one of those people who just stop in the middle of the highway for no apparent reason. If you are going to do some rallying, or hard driving I think I would take it down. Even the suction ones will come off.

I bought one of the TomTom dashboard bean bags (actually filled with lead shot, I think) and it accepts the standard suction cup attachemnt. We use the GPS in both the Tahoe and the SSR. In the SSR, I put the bean bag mount on the curved part of the console, forward of the shifter. The GPS is shaded from the sun and is easy to see. This is fine, most all of the time. If I need to do some difficult maneuvering, I'll pull the whole thing up and plop it on the dash in the center.... that is rare.
I too had one of those bean bags supporting my GPS and I had it on the top center of the dash so that both I and my better half can see it (she just had to see how fast I was going ….)
Anyway… I now have the in-dash all in one navigation, back up camera & radio unit as I don’t like the clutter look of things above or below the dash.
