Their are a number of really good custom paint jobs out there, some here get tons of exposures and some don't simply 'cause they're happy being low key.
Their are still many that I haven't seen in person but from those I've seen, the detail on Gene Kelso's "Bone Collector" gets my vote.
Even though it no longer even exist...."The Diamondback" to me, was the most Awesome SSR ever built! If my wife ever gets my SSR on "Overhaulin".....I told her to have them recreate it!
My SSR: 05, Silver Auto, Line-X Bed, X-Member and Plate
All SSR's are good. Some have gone show pony and they look great, others 1/4 mile, personalized and stock, and a few with high miles. I am just fortunate to own one and enjoy the experience.
To me, for something to be considered "Holy grail" it would be more of a GM produced and stock vehicle, like a L88 69 Vette, a COPO ZL1 camaro. Customs rarely enter into these high dollar categories.
To me this is the "Holy grail" and these are pictures of Charlies twin that rarely sees the light of day.
My SSR: Pearl over UV tu-tone - "PurLple" w/ custom billet rallye wheels/baby moons & wide whitewalls, 4:56s
didn't see this thread 'til now
I have thought of this over the last few months since getting my truck back from the paint shop. And since getting the wheels/tires mounted I can honestly say that I would pick mine with it's new/old look as my favorite. I love the way it turned out. I can only hope that everyone feels that way about their own truck

Ever notice that having a wickedly hot wife seems to increase the odds of being on "Overhaulin"?
