Yellow Running Boards

Last week I took my 04 Slingshot in to the body shop to get some scratches fixed in the rear facia. I had them paint the satin running boards to match the truck. The body shop was reluctant to re-install the rubber so I told them I will do it. Guessing it will be a pain to remove all of the 2 sided tape.
I considered just leaving the rubber off, BUT it is a LOT of yellow!

While it was in there I had them install the LST hood struts that have been on my workbench for 14 months. Bye bye prop rod. They charged $120 to install the struts, which I thought was very fair.

These 2 small things make it seem like a new truck to me. I now sort of get why a lot of you keep doings mods.

Thumbs up

Check with your local bedliner sprayer in your area. You could do the running boards with bedliner were the rubber was...
That is if you like the idea....

Congrats, Greyfox . . . Lookin' Good!

When I was shopping for an SSR, I didn't even want the running boards because at that time they were all the "satin gray" look and didn't seem to go with the Slingshot Yellow . . . then I found DOOPHUS with the color matched boards and WOW, what a difference.

You're gonna love your "new and improved" ride.

I can see that satin on Greyfox's boards may not look so good with the chrome wheels, but satin with satin is okay. I have that on my Redline but I am considering painting mine but I feel the black portion is necessary and would like to keep the existing rubber. The only red match boards I have noticed are on OP's and they look good. So the rubber is double taped on. Does that make it very difficult to reuse I wonder? I just went the 50' from computer to and find I can lift the rubber away easily enough and question if one might be able to paint with the rubber left on. Watcha think?
