I've got the same question. I know that mine was listed as "Pace Vehicle #3", and the Subway truck as #4 in the Barrett-Jackson descriptions. I'm assuming that the '03 Indy Pace car/truck is #1. The white '03 with red and blue stripes that sold at Barrett on Sunday was probably #2 as it was the first SSR to pace a NASCAR race (Richnond 5/15/04). Then there was the awesome tutone "Daytona Sunset Orange" and "Pacific Blue Metalic" R at the '05 Brickyard 400. So that's five that I know of today (not including Indy and Brickyard Festival models of course). That said, the SSR paced some IRL races after Indianapolis in either '03 or '04.
Still a novice with my SSR facts, but this seems like the place to get the answers from a lot of you that know these babies inside and out--Great Site!

Glad that I found such an awesome site--have always liked the SSR and decided to pull the trigger on this one. I mentioned in another post on the forum that Mike Joy (FOX, SPEED etc.) bought the white, with red and blue stipes truck--great deal at $30k! On that one--pictures I found on two web sites show publicity shots from '04 and the truck didn't have the chin spoiler.
Anyway, looking forward to getting involved with this forum and the SSR Fanatics.
Too cool, congrats gmkarguy Here's some shots I took of your truck on the thursday when we went with fourhounds.

Thanks turnheadz! It's great to get some more pics. I was actually more focused on four other cars that sold before Sunday and have tons of digital pics. of them--bid on each but stopped when the money got crazy on them. Then on Sunday, just before I was ready to head for the Phoenix airport in plenty of time to get some lunch and a beer, I was presently suprised to snipe this truck away. Didn't bring my camera through the gates Sunday--had it packed away in my duffle for the flight home. Barely made it to the airport to catch the last flight of the day on American back to big D.
The transport company called Thusday morning--truck will be here Saturday; forecast is good on the weather side so I'll try to take a few shots of my own and get them posted (underhood, interior, bed etc.).

Hagerty emailed a block shot of my truck to me today. Funny, I was so focused on the bidding that I would have bet a million bucks that the top was never down.

But that does answer the question asked early on, "Does the top still go down, even with the strobes?"

I'm not fond of the look of our SSR's, with the top down. To big and boxy. But with your flame job, it's not to bad looking.
I wish I had your deal, you did well.
