New 2014 Corvette Stingray

RUN ROD RUN 01-13-2013 07:07 PM

Viper + Ferrari + Camaro = Stingray

Good thing this isn't a Corvette forum as I'd be ban for life for what I just said ....

Warrior=='06 01-13-2013 07:30 PM

Ho Hum.....

HONESTLY----It looks like a re-hashed C-6 for the most part. :cry

Sorry if I'm offending anybody (I love the Vette) But there just doesn't seem to be enough substance to it to match all the hype in past months leading up to its release. :right:

Just ----IMHO

Is the 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray available as a convertible?

No mention of a convertible in the Car and Driver article. "Removable roof standard on the coupe" is as close as they get.

They also mention the Z06 and ZR1 being a couple years away, and a possible "split window" small block version in the future.

Sure has that "Euro" look.

Just plain looks fast!!!

Marc, I bet you can! I'm waiting for the split window coupe!

:black: :)

Blue Voodoo 01-14-2013 05:33 PM

"Gaudy" has always been the complaint from my European buddies. Chevy's still consistent. I like it, but I just can't get past those Camaro rear tail lights. Not sure if any vette will look correct with out actual round ones.

!!!Wait a minute. MIKE, MIKE!! We have an aftermarket part request for the Corvette forum guys!

Looks like one is in the works. If I had to bet they will wait a year to bring it out to get that second bump.

2014 Corvette

The new C7 2014 Corvette is stunning ! I know even the nay sayers if they had the money $$$ would want one. Every red blooded American boy has always wanted a Corvette.

Flying Dog 01-16-2013 11:00 AM

Yes, I want one!!
Even though I'm not fond with every little styling detail, I still want one!!!

Of all Corvette out there, I'll take a C5.

My least favorite iteration of the Vette is the C4, strangely enough I liked it when it was new.

Flassh 01-16-2013 03:33 PM

1974, 75, 76 were a disaster. The early C4s with the CRT display were something to stay away from.

I would still take a 1967 small block 4 speed coupe over pretty much anything else.

OK - maybe I'd settle for a 2012 100th Anniversary ZR-1

OP... 01-17-2013 06:25 PM

BTW, they got rid of the handbrake...and went with the push/pull button brake feature.:mad2:

OH, and the rear still looks like a camaro.....:banghead except for the exhaust, that I like.

I like those SSR seats you have there...seems Corvette should have consulted you first.

:glol

There are many features of the new vette I like alot, some hidden, some not.

I like the vented rear hatch (hidden)...google it.

The engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes...impressive.

I like the cooling system and the way the car moves air and heat.

REALLY like the carbon fiber hood and roof (do not like how the hood fits though)

I am looking forward to the rag-top option.

ttarob 01-18-2013 09:34 PM

The one thing I LOVE about the C4 .... The whole front flips up so you can access the engine, I love my 1978 .... It's a ROYAL pain to work out without scratching the fenders!! It will be nice to see the changes that Chevy made to the Vette

Same thing with my '64 C2...although I cover the fenders....that, and my paint is original and is in DIRE need of being repainted.

David :black:

If you look at the quantity of changes that were made relative to the C6, it's basically a new car. In my opinion, the changes are far more significant than from C5 to C6.
