It's the ignition switch. Always is.

2004 auxilary gauge installation

Does anyone have detailed instructions on how to install a set of auxilary gauges in my 2004. I have the gauges and bracket but no instructions.

Thanks

Totally clueless here, Sam . . .

Since this is such an old thread, you'll probably have better luck with responses if you create a new thread under SSR Technical Discussion.

Good Luck

2005 Slingshot Yellow tach problem

Sorry but I'm new to this Forum and don't know how to ask a question of the SSR members. My SSR has 74,000 miles on it and I just bought it two weeks ago, but I've a problem just cropped-up. Engine runs fine but tach registers 5,000rpm at idle and moves upward from there. Also fuel gauge registers way past full. All other gauges appear normal. What kind of problem do I have and will I do damage if I drive SSR like this? Do I need to upgrade membership before I can ask this type of question? I promise to upgrade membership but could anyone help now please? SpicewoodGlenn...Thanks.

Just a guess ... maybe it an Ignition Switch. Go to the top of this screen where it says "Search" and type in Ignition Switch, you'll find lots of information on how to replace it.

I think the question you posted is in your visitors profile and not on the open forum to get an answer......

Is this the question ?
Has anyone had success towing their SSR? Should I be looking at “flat towing” or towing on a dolly?

I'll send you my cell # call me and I'll walk you through it

OK - found your previous post. Looks like Cash, Hot Rod Girl and I have all responded within a few minutes.

Best bet to post a question is to start a new thread on the Forum you think is most likely to be suitable.

Ie, General, Technical, etc.

Not sure where you asked the question, but unless it's on one of the forums, it would be a fluke for someone to fine it, or, by responding to you asking a question, as you did here.

Again, welcome. Once you figure out the system, you'll do fine. We'll help you find ways to spend huge amounts of your money on essentials for your SSR.

Just got my 05 SSR about a month ago, and finally had a chance to get away with a road trip from Seattle to Boise. LOVE this vehicle! But after joining this site and learning about GM's abandonment, and the rarity of parts after production, I believe I'm going to drive her home gently to Seattle and promply garage her permanently! Really looking forward to the exchange with some of the "senior" members here. Very good knowledge base by really great people! Scott from Seattle

I would drive it because it is fun. I have 78k+ miles on mine. I have driven it in 33 states and 2 provinces in Canada. GM is coming around slowly and beginning to manufacture some of the more necessary parts again. Many others are shared with other vehicles. Then there are the parts that our members here make for us (some that GM did not know were needed )
Have fun with it. Isn't that what you bought it for? It is not really an investment unless you plan to keep it for another 50+ years.

I would get a few more posts under my belt and try the supporting Membersip again. If that does not work try a PM to Marc NY for help.

Posting a new thread is easy. From the home page:
1. select the proper Forum
2. at the top left of the page you will find a black button labeled New Thread
Click it
3. this will provide a box for the thread title and another for the first post of the thread. After filling out both, scroll down and find the submit button and click it.
You are done.

You can PM me for the info on the "Decal for you other vehicle" as shown in my avatar on the left or Mike in AZ for the "SSR Fanatic.com" sticker for your rear window. Both are for sale at reasonable prices. For "any /all other stuff" you might try this Forum:

Welcome from So Calif.
FYI - We have a search tool on the upper right corner & if you'll type in lowering springs, you'll see many threads on that subject.
As for me I'm using Eibach PRO-TRUCK Kit springs.
