Mr. Yat I bought a pair of these from a guy selling on the forum who claimed they were brand new, when I received them they had some scratching on the inner rim as well as black discoloration on the underside. He claimed they were never installed. When these tips come new out of the box, does this sound like the condition they should be in?
Schubs, I don't have a clue without a picture! Considering I am the only one that sells these tips I have no clue if they are used or not. The freight would be around $12.00.

My SSR: 03. Custom paint. Flowmaster 40, lake pipes, 4.56's, torque converter, Vette servo, Bosal tips.
I got my Bosals installed yesterday and I love the look and the sound. I have a Flowmaster 40 and the tips gave me that extra bite of sound I was looking for. The shop I went to only charged me $30 and they did a terrific job measuring them to make sure they were spot on. I had them stick them out about 1 1/2 inches to make them stand out. I also spray painted the insides of the tips black with high heat BBQ paint, it really makes them stand out.

Thanks Mr. Yat!
Please excuse the camera phone quality pics.
Hey Mikey
Looks great. They did a fine job. I love the 1 1/2 inch stickout. I think yours are sticking out a little more than mine. We gotta do something about that. Hope to see ya soon.
Hello ssr bosal users eh! I guess I wouldn't mind a bit more bark from my exhaust, however,I don't want to disturb the interior noise level at cruising speed etc. So, my question to you guys,is the noise inside with flowmasters
and the bosal tips much louder than stock,I know everyone might have a different ear regarding this, but in general>>>>>what cha think hey! I wouldn't do just the tips, would have to have the flowmasters as well to do it right and not spend a ton of $$ etc. Thanks
PS: After speaking to Mr Yat (MIKE) I am going to install the Bosals, take a listen,if need be then add a super 40 series muffler,I see that flowmasters call for a 50HD series, but I don't care for that sound at all,if one can trust the audio from their site the super 40 series sounds the best to me!
FYI: I chose to go with magnaflow muffler and bosal tips!
Well Fanatics, did the magnaflow muffler and Bosals today and it turned out just like I had hoped, about fifty per-cent louder when you get on it,but, nearly the same inside cabin noise level at cruising speed, very nice, now some of you may choose to go for a bit more rumble, then I would suggest either flowmaster 40 series or super 44 series, talk to a quality muffler shop that has installed many of these mufflers, they will tell you the straight scoop as to noise level in and out etc! Iam happy and you must be also so do your do diligence, before you buy your muffler, assuming you are R&R
just the stock muffler, for many, you want the whole enchilada, pipes, true duals,I didn't think it necessary to do that and spend a great deal more $ and
a much louder sound than I care to have, what I currently have is nice, different strokes for different folks, this is simply a FYI Fanatics!!
I drove by my local Chevy Dealer and showed Mike(Serv. Mgr.) he liked the sound, thought the tips looked like 20" guns on the" mighty MO"(USS Missouri) it used to be here in Bremerton for many years. Many of us grew up seeing her every day as we drove past Puget Sound Naval Shipyard to work or coming in from Tacoma or Port Orchard etc.Funny,I thought the very same thing when I first saw them too! PS: Thanks to Mike(Bosal) for all his help!
TFj2 I have very few left of the 2.5" inlet but have quite a few of the 3" inlets. Same price give me a call 800-631-7271 x 227
Mike
Hello to all you rumbling bosal fanatics: I thought I would pass this on to all
who have a 2005-2006 SSR,when they started to take off the old muffler, the first thing they noticed,is the inlet is not 3" to the muffler,but2.5" The muffler
I ordered has a three inch inlet, there is a piece of pipe from the cat that is 3",then narrows to 2.5 at the muffler inlet, the guys that installed mine were very talented and made a piece 3" from the inlet of the muffler to the connection to the c/converter etc.I was told by many that the inlet was 3",that is half true obviously,no big deal, again this is FYI,any good muffler shop won't have any problem either way, they will make it work! They are most definetly 2.5" on both outlets. DA DA DA That's all folks!!
PS: We automatic Tranny guys don't get the let off the gas compression sound that you 6speed guys like to hear, unless we start off in first or second and let off, normal driving one doesn't do that obviously with an A/T.
I guess I need to try it though!
