'06 Auto. Shift Cable

My auto. shift would not go into first gear. The dealer said it was mis adjusted. So they adjusted it. It now goes into first but it hits the console. Anyone with an auto. When in first gear does it hit the console? Also on the was home I noticed a vibration in the seat ( like a rear tire out of balance). Could they have screwed something up to make it do this? Thanks

THis may be unrelated problems. A very high percentage of these came from the factory with out of round tires or severely out of balance. Most dealers know about that problem and many tires have been replaced.

The shift is probably still not properly adjusted if it is hitting the console.

I also think they are unrelated problems. I had mine to Denecker Chevrolet in Vergennes for the load force balancing. They said all but one wheel was in spec. They said left front was out and the tire needed to be shifted on the rim...BUT they don't have a tire changer for tires that big that won't scratch the rims. So they sent me to County Tire in Middlebury. They were able to get the left front tire/rim better, but were not able to get it perfect because the rim is out of round. I could see it myself on the balancer. They also checked the other three wheels and the right front and right rear were also out of balance (this AFTER Denecker said they were OK on the load force machine). Net result is the seat vibration is gone and most of the steering wheel vibration is gone. I'm going to see if I can get Denecker to replace the left front rim. This is pretty frustrating!

I've seen rims out of round as well now (they say bent, but just looks warped to me). When I buy new tires in about 10k (3 to 4 months), I'm going to take 8 rims to the tire place (with road force balancing) and have them mount the 2 best front and 2 best rear....then I'll sell the others as ART pieces
