Going with 22" diameter custom wheels for the rear is fine, and if you maintain about 4" of theoretical (unloaded/uncompressed) sidewall height, you'll fine that the ride quailty is also still pretty good as compared to stock. I know that at least one (maybe more) fanatics have put 22" wheels on the front. I guess from that we can say that 22" wheels would fit, at least provided that they we not too wide. Sorry, I can't tell you what the maximum wheel width for a 22" wheel could be and still work on the front.

However, what I would be concerned about would be what tires would you put on the front with 22" wheels? To maintain anything close to the theoretical stock tire O.D. of 28.04" for the P255/45HR19 tire, you would be looking at around a 3" (unloaded) sidewall height. That would be borderline on "rubberbands" as far as I'm concerned. Remember, once installed you'll have even less sidewall height than that. Even if you were not concerned about poor ride quality, you would certainly risk the wheels being damaged much more easily simply due to having less protection.

If you plan to use your SSR on a limited basis and for show mostly, then fine. I personally couldn't see running a 22"/22" setup as a daily driver, as my truck is. That's why I went with the 20"/22" setup.

Whatever you do, please post photos and info. on the wheels and tires that go end up going with.
Custom Chrome Wheels - "20/22 Look"

Good luck,

Alex
