Question 4.10's and speedo correction, 6 spd

I have been following this issue and did a search, but I am not clear if the dealer can/will reprogram for 4.10's on an 05 6spd. I may have a chance to buy the GM gears at a great price slightly used but perfect and have a friend who is a whiz with gears to install them.

You'll love the change it makes to the SSR. I tried the dealer. They even went to bat with mother GM to see if there was a way to make the change. Answer was no dice. If anyone has info to the contrary I'd like to hear it - and the detailed instructions..

In the meantime it's not too hard to knock 10% off the speedo when driving. Looking forward to a tune coming in the mail from Westers..

If you have a local shop that uses HPtuners they can change the speedo calabration.

I was talking to my dealer yesterday about a gear change - he had that Deer in the Headlights look.

After a couple of weeks with the 6 speed, I'm finding that 4th gear will happily take me well beyond the speed limit, so 5th is really an overdrive. Haven't figured out when I'll ever use 6th.

So..... if anyone can provide info on a gear set that will work with the 6 speed, and some performance information, I'm all ears.

I'm very happy with the 4.10s. I think first gear would be almost useless with the 4.56 (especially with a supercharger - one day maybe..). If you get out to So Cal I can give you a demo. PM if you have any specific questions or want to chat on the phone.

Also, go to the gear ratio charts thread. It has charts for the 6 speed with 3.73, 4.10, and 4.56 gears.
