Smile 4:56 Gear Change?

What happens to the onboard computers when you change the gears (3:73 to 4:56 05 Auto)? Will you get any lights, bells and whistles indicating something is out calibration? I understand you need to recalibrate the speedometer/odometer. But can you run for awhile untill you can get that done?

Yes. I am still running mine. A local Westers rep was supposed to get his own unit to do my computer but still hasn't.
I was hoping to get it done with limited down time. It runs fine but in the meantime I am putting on about 10 miles for every 8 that I drive.

Contact Joe Delano (2005SSR6Speed), he lives in SoCal and can fix you up with an HP Tune.

I am getting the "want to's" for the gear upgrade. I'm in Birmingham Al--does anyone have a reccomendation for such work here or close by? Should I just look for a good 'Vett shop?
With all the Allison and Bonnett names around here, there should be someone.
Help!

The computer didn't like it when my 4.56 gears went in. It kept activating the traction control, and I felt like I was riding a bucking bronco. When I turned the traction control off, everything was fine. When I got home, I used my Diablo tuner to modify the tune to recognize the 4.56's.

Did that take care of the traction control problem? Is the Diablo tuner the best for most of the mods to the 2004 5.3? I am picking up a 2004 SSR tomorrow and I an very new to this site. I have ordered the corvette servo and the next thing sounds like the gear change to wake up the heavy SSR. Who did you get your gears from? Thanks..

Yeah but.... he still doesn't have the magic figured out to correct for the 4.56 gears. We've tried and will try some more once things settle down a bit. HP tuners won't do the trick.
