Funny you ask, we just finished installing 4 air springs at the North Texas Tech session. Suspension work was all I was involved with, Compressor and tubing was already installed. Nice package.

I believe air-lift makes bladders which go inside the rear coils. I have installed air-ride technologies rear air springs (replacing coils completely) and an air-lift control kit which maintains height automatically.

I have the bladders in my SSR that joel is talking about, they go inside the rear coils. I ran lines that look very stealth, the fittings to fill them with air are on the lower two mounting holes which hold the rear license plate. I just wanted them for extra clearence when towing, so decided against gauges and a compressor. Works very well and I am pleased.

I had looked at the air lift kit for the TB SS ... a guy who sells these through an ebay store said the SSR springs were a different length to the Trailblazer and that they would not work. Ail lift did not respond to my emails. Which kit did you use?

Thanks

They do work and all of the holes are in the frame,

Just have to wire it up with a relay and a good ground

There are load leveling sensors for each side and you can use these to adjust the suspension to any height you want.

I have the stock set of rear control arms off my TBSS with the tabs on them for the load leveling sensors for anyone that wants to stop by and pick them up for free. (Gone - holding them for Mike)

I installed Air Lift bladders in the coil springs on my SSR and they work great when towing our 13' Casita Travel Trailer.

I also installed a set on my 78 Caprice and on our 05 Avalanche.

These are just the ticket for the extra loads.

I have seen used ones on ebay sell cheap. I know Mike in AZ is looking into putting the parts on his, you may want to give him a yell. The great part is you can set the rear to any height you want and the sensors will change the pressure by what you have loaded. All you would need to do it to hook up a positive and ground once you have all the TrailBlazer SS parts.

Do you happen to know the part number for the Air Lift kit you used on your truck?

The setup on my TrailBlazer SS is just the factory installed rear suspension for the vehicle.

Air Bag Suspension

I've been looking into getting an air suspension, so I called Summit Racing and they said they had the Air Ride system for $3500.00 front and rear w/ the compressor and sensors along w/ it. They qouted me $1300.00 for the front and rear Air Ride system and 2200.00 for the compressor and all the components that go w/ it. Will probably get the Air Ride system and wait till I can afford the compressor assembly, then find someone able to do the install. After being rear ended I want to get a new system for the R, cause it rides a little hard now.

Kris, that`s an absurd price. Must be for those crazy acting head banger cars that bounce around. (showing my age here). Rear air bag only, with plumbing, but no compressor, for a 3/4 to one ton truck is in the mid $200 range and the compressor just a little less. You might wanna check around some more......Paul

Air Shocks work pretty good for load leveling, and their cheap and easy to install.

I'm on the road now so I don't have the # handy. Call Summit and ask about the Air Lift kit for the SSR or Trailblazer. It should cost less then a $100.
