Alternator chirp/squeak on hard acceleration shifts

I have the chirp that so many mention on the 1-2 shift during medium to hard acceleration. Mike in AZ mentioned in another thread that GM went to a clutched alternator pulley in 2005 to eliminate this problem.

So here's the question... What is the preferred solution to this problem? Will the dealer replace my pulley with the new design if I take it in with this problem? Is there a TSB?

OK, so that was three questions, but important ones. While I like my local service dept. at Banks Chevrolet, there aren't many SSRs up here in NH for them to practice on.

Thanks in advance!

Jon

P.S. 2005, Auto transmission, made in October of 2004, new to me this year.

Thanks Frank! I guess a little more digging would have turned up the TSB. I was able to dig up the text of the TSB posted by wingrider in this other thread.

Condition
Some customers may comment on a chirp and/or squeak noise from the front of the vehicle during hard acceleration or WOT on upshifts or downshifts.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
