Red face Aux Gauge Installation

I Have an '05 SSR for which my dealer ordered a gauge set. Spent much of day yesterday waiting to get installed and finally coming home without being installed. The problem was the gauge set had NO instructions. They had to call around and get installation instructions faxed. The instructions showed a mounting bracket with gauges. The gauges they had did NOT have a mounting bracket. They checked around and were given two different sets of instructions. The one said the bracket should be with the gauges and the other said it was already installed under the carpet. Since they couldn't get an affirmative answer with someone who had installed one before, they didn't want to cut carpet to see if bracket was thwere and I didn't want them to either.

My car doesn't have the RPO EGR or EGH and I believe that the RPO's were listed under the information on the gauges they ordered, as I was there when they ordered them. I'm wondering if we have the wrong set of gauges and the gauges without those RPO designations may come WITH the bracket?

Can anyone advise? I'd really like the gauges installed!

Jack

guage mounting

I also have a 05 guage package. It has not been installed as of yet, but I cut the carpet and found the wiring harness. Just in front of the console is a bracket that holds the front console to the floor. A seperate mount and bracket ARE needed to mount the guages properly to the existing console mount. Many threads have been posted with the part #s.
05 and 06 guages are different than 03-04. Easiest way to identify them is 05-06 have outside temperature guage. Hopes this helps some.
I got my mounting bracket from Jeff @ssr6spd. He may have correct part #s

instructions

I can't remember but I'm pretty sure I got them off the dealer website. You can call your Chevy dealer and ask them for the site address. If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll see if I can find my instruction sheet and fax it to you.

I talked to my Chevy parts guy again on Monday afternoon. He did some more checking but cannot find a part number for bracket and ALL gauges the distributor has do NOT have brackets with them. Parts guy even gave the distributor my Vin# and asked him to double check proper gauges. He was told we have proper gauges and an extra bracket IS NOT NEEDED? That's why we don't know what to do as everyone responding to me so far has said that I need the extra bracket????

Can anyone give me the part number for the bracket so I can tell my parts guy?

Confused.

The bracket is normally included with the pod "KIT". If you turn the pod upside down you will see two "male" snap clips that snap down to the "female" receptor of the metal bracket. It sounds to me that your dealer is ordering a "replacement" part (the pod and cluster) and not the complete pod and bracket kit for a brand new installation.

Do you have an e-mail address or phone number for Jeff@ssr6spd as I couldn't find him under the members list?

Still trying to find a bracket or part number so my dealer can order it.

Craig, neither Checy dealer near me list anyting about installation intructions just part numbers and phone number for ordering. I don't have a fax ( I have an H-P all-in-one but have never been able to get the fax part working) maybe you could scan it and send it via email. mgbgtgrimm@att.net
My SLingshot is an 04 and came with the chrome/satin gauges and I bought an 05 Yellow gauges just to get the yellow housing. With my 24hr oxygen I can't do any painting anymore so I thought this would be easy way. I have unassembled the 05 pkg as the gauges are different. Greg & Grimm
