Battery acid problem

I recently installed a new battery in my 05 about 5 months ago. I pulled the R out out the garage yesterday and I noticed an acid spot on the garage floor . Upon further investigation I noticed the corner of battery tray had the white acid stain . I do have a battery tender hooked up to rear 12v socket , I'm wondering if this could b problem or might it b something else . Any suggestions would b greatly appreciated thank u everyone for ur time
Bob

It should not be the battery tender it has a safety. Check the battery first for any cracked areas.

You should check the battery for a cracked case Optima batterys especially are prone to this also are you using a real battery tender or using that term for a trickle charger. A battery tender should not boil the battery but a trickle charger could. Good Luck
