Iam going to buy a 2005 SSR and bring it to Switzerland as my daily driver car.
Of course i will have plenty of question to all of your experienced guys overthere! But step by step now...... So i want to lower the SSR and Eibach & Ground Force Kits does lower the car only 1" to 1,5". But the Belltech & Intrax kits goes moore than 2" lower (Intrax front 1,5" rear 2,1") (Belltech front 2" rear 3").
Did anyone of you got a Belltech or Intrax Kit mounted in your SSR (pictures?) ?
If so, what is your experience with? Qualtity, stiff ride?
On the Gallery i have seen a black "slammed" SSr from Troy Roberts, does anybody know what lowering kit he have used?
Thanks for your replys on this! (please excuse my rough grammar/english)
I just found this great forum on the Net a couple days ago, and it is absolut great & helpfull with plenty of informatons.
But Ok, it looks that nobody has used a Belltech/Intrax lowering kit til now. Fact is that my SSR should be lowered as much as possible. I would be very happy for every information what kind of lowering kit we should use. (i have read alot about
Ground Force and Eibach in this forum, but this is not low enough for me)
I dont want to cut the coils either.
Hey thanks a lot to both of you!
I searched now with the keyword and i got plenty of infos now. It seems that i should use the Belltech kit. It looks that this is lowest one.
My SSR: 04 Ricochet, ADDCO, Eibach, Joe’s Tune, Bernie’s Kit,Air Dam, Aux Fan & Lower Radiator Supt

How good are the roads in Switzerland? If you get your SSR too low, you could run into problems. One area that comes to my mind is there a lower radiator support made of plastic and must be replaced immediately if you brake it. It is not cheap, close to $300 not including labor.
More on that, click this: Is the front end part I broke important?
Thanks "89 Rod" !!
Our streets are ok overhere , but switzerland is a small country and so our streets & parking lots etc are smaller too, smaller than yours overthere (no joke!)
So i read the story about the radiator support/crossmember and i wondering how (why)they can made it from plastic..... Our streets are hilly (means allways up & down, sorry folks) and this means a good chance to hit that radiator support.
So from day to day when i read further here in that famous forum, i got a scarry feeling about getting replacement parts once the truck will be here....The SSR where never officialy sold over here in the old Europe and i guess all over Europe there are not more than about 10 or 20 pcs of SSRs.
This means, no warranty from the GM Dealer overhere and they not even will know what a SSR is.....So the only way to get replacement parts is to order direct in the States and......let me say it that way: "I guess that i need a real direct connection for parts when i remember all the topics here about the typical SSR problems (overheating blower motor failure, broken door handles, ign switch, etc.) Moore & moore it sounds like a "adventure" to me...
I sounds bad because you hear about the bad things. When the other 23K plus SSRs are working fine, you don't hear about that.
This forum is about the best support system around to find out what might go wrong and how to fix it. Frank Belk is in the parts ddept at a Chevy dealer and sells us parts at a discount. I'm sure if you need something one day, he'll be able to help.
