Blue 06 lost 2nd gear/stripped wire

Dianne drove the SSR to work on Tuesday, called me at 1:30 PM and said while out at lunch second gear (automatic) was not engaging and when it did it would slam hard. She then shifted manually and it was no better and still would not engage. Shift indicator was not working right and showing it was in the wrong gear from where it really was. She parked it at work, AAA came and got it and we took it to the dealer.

We only have 2200 miles on it and don't drive it like a hot rod.

Dealer called Wed afternoon and said it was a tan wire with a white stripe that was somehow rubbing down by the power steering pump and had lost its insulation covering and was shorting out.

Picked it up last night and everything was fine.

Sure glad it did not happen on a road trip. Watch out for dead shorts, the computers don't like them.

Chuck

That is a very odd problem I'm glad they had a tech that could trouble shoot and repair this for you so quickly.
