Are you referring to the slight squeak sometime coming from under the dash on the drivers side? In the cold it's the worst. Nowhere near as bad in the summer. I just crank the tunes up a little louder. I'm not even thinking of taking it to the dealer. Afraid they'll make it worst by removing the dash to troubelshoot. Never thought about beefier sway bar fix.
I think it's inherent to the design, if you clean and lube the top mechanism (do a search, someone did a really detailed thread) and the rubber seals it'll make a big difference
Something else I did to stiffen up the frame, besides the sway-bars, was to add another cross-bar that runs parallel to the existing cross-bar between the frame-rails in the middle of the SSR. If you look closely at the frame-rails you'll find a duplicate set of mounts for the extra cross-bar purchased from my Chevrolet Dealer.
The dealer part number for the cross-bar is 15752337
My SSR is tight and quiet even on Massachusetts roads!

Thanks!
I purchased a large tube of paste from the local NAPA store about 3 years ago and the extra frame brace isn't special. It is the same part that is on our SSR's as built, just using 2 instead of 1. I didn't keep the paperwork, but you shouldn't have any problems getting the part number from Marc or any Chevy dealer. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I was reading this thread early this morning and thought to myself, box the frame or add another cross member and you've done just that. Did you bolt it in?
We recently moved closer to the Ocean, actually ocean front & my weatherstripping is starting to dry out and the 303 isn't helping much.
Thanks for the info, we have NAPA Auto Parts here.

Yes, I did bolt it in the same as the stock bar, the nuts are already welded into the frame for the bolts. Can't fault two parallel bars to improve the design. This is a very low cost improvement to our SSR's and it doesn't require any modifications either.

Had the wheels off the the Caddy SRX AWD we just purchased last week to do some detailing, and found the springs and brakes to be very similar to the SSR equipment. No idea if it would work, but definitely worth checking out. The rear end can handle the horsepower of the 4.6 Northstar so should be fairly solid.

My lessons learned. Ocean environment eats everything unprotected. We have use Dupont Krytox Weatherstrip Saver for many years. About $45 for 2 oz tube. I buy it at Corvette Parts and Accessories, Ecklers 1-800-327-4868 as I live near them. You can Google Dupont Krytox and have it shipped from your chosing. I first learned about this from a Corvette club 2001. Easy to apply and does the job.

Greg, where did you purchase the aftermarket sway bars? Thanks.
I forget the name of the company but It was through a link here on our forum. Do a search under sway bars and I'm sure you will find a source. Mine were the Addco or Hellwig bars but there are others.
