Bought Tuner...Ordered Wax

Well, I just picked up the Diablo Sport Tuner form a local performance shop.

I installed the Performance tune. Not to impressed at this point...

I ordered my Zaino wax as per the discussion here. I want this thing to shine bright. I hope to have better results from this than the tuner.

I know that a few HP are not easily felt, but I thought that a firmer shift and better low to mid range acceleration should be more noticeable.

If anyone else is looking for a Diablo, I think my local dealer gave me a great deal...$349.99 and used my old Atlanta, GA address sooooooooo no tax.

As long as you don't use it... IF you take it out and plug it in then it is yours..

Welllllll like I said "installed the performance tune...not to impressed." We will see. I'm glad that I found this site. I hope I can soon find out who to trust and who to tune out...LOL...No pun intended. I just wanted some better throttle response and low to mid-range power gains. I don't usually drive with the accelerator pedal through the floor board...just half way.

What is the model number on your tuner??? I might know someone else who is interested.

More info

Wellllll...I am going to have to back up my earlier statment.

I did not think much of my Diablo Sport tuner when I first installed the "Performance Tune" yesturday and went for a spin around the block. I even called my dealer and hinted for a refund.

Now, this morning at 5:00 AM getting on to I10 I was really amazed at the difference. A very noticeable difference in shift point and power. Guess I had to get it over 2000 rpm. Another nice side effect...I reset Avg Fuel Econ and I picked up 2 MPG and over 3 MPG difference on the instant read out over factory program with cruise set at same point on interstate. I guess the computer might make real time adjustments as it seems better and better. This is after about 100 miles after the tune was installed.

Just the feeling could be me but the Readouts should be correct. I know that cooler or hotter temps and humidity plays a roll in it but I am pleased at this point.

Scott you have to play with the settings to find the ones you like. The shift points are where you can really make a difference. Run them up to 15 to 20 percent and you will see a big change. Did you do the high performance set or the 87 octane set.

High Performance 93 Octane setting.

It seems to really be sporty now. I just got back from a 1 hour back road ride. It "barked" second gear. Lets see...it's only been about 20 years since I did that.

Way Cool.............

Zaino

Finally had the time for the Zaino treatment as a lot of members here have talked about. Full treatment, starting with clay bar(wow, what a difference), 1 coat Z5, and 2 coats Z2(for now). The ease of use, and the quality of finish, it's easy to understand why those that used it recommended the Zaino products so highly.
Everyone has their favorite products, but for me, it's Zaino from now on.
