Found it at Comp Cams. It's their recommendation.

The .050 timing is virtually identical I think to the wonderful 2002 (NOT 2001) Corvette Z06 cam, and the lobe separation angle is fine, but that lift is too conservative. The lift at the valve can be 0.550 easily on both intake and exhaust on that engine, and that increases the curtain wall area a LOT.

I suspect they restricted the valve lift because they wanted to avoid a smaller base circle diameter on the cam, which would necessitate longer pushrods.

The longer pushrods are worth the extra work and costs. I used that 2002 Z06 cam on my 2004 SSr BEFORE I supercharged it, along with Dynatech Supermaxx headers, and a TRULY GOOD (this is critical) true dual exhaust that was engineered for this engine. The combination gave me about 80 rear wheel horsepower. The cam alone, without the exhaust enhancements, can be expected to provide only about 30 to 33 rwhp, as the cam is good enough to make the exhaust into a major "cork".

That cam would be OK with a set of 1.8 rockers on it. Valve lift would increase to .545 int. and .538 ex. Also the .050 duration would pick up a degree or two. Vinci Performance , in conjuction with Crane Cams, has a bunch of slick profiles for the LS series of engines. I bought my cam, rockers and spring package from them and am very pleased with the combo. He has a lot cams designed for stock pistons with .324 lobe lift and various durations and lobe centers. Web address is Vincihiperformance.com.
