can I fix the rattles

I love our 2004 SSR but hear rattles in the back when we drive down paved bumping roads. Is there something I should be tightening?

Glad to hear that you have no rattle problems. I am a little worried about taking it back to the dealer to "fix" the rattles in mine so am looking for advise on what to do on my own to fix this problem

All kidding aside, where does it sound like it's coming from? - Underneath or the bed or the top compartment?

The rattle comes from the top compartment I think, mostly on the Drivers side when the top is up or down. Appreciate anyones help here.

Take it to a Larger Dealer. Its your best bet. There have been some TSBs on this issue.

One thing you might check out is that both the doors have a tendancy to rattle on rough surfaces. I thought the rattles were coming from the top storage compartment but found that is was, in fact, the doors. It does'nt appear there is any adjustment in the door latches...

You can test this theory by merely putting the top down, close the driver side door and give it a couple of shakes. Mine proved not to be tight against the rubber seals.
