Can I install auxiliary gauges on any SSR?

I've got an extra set of auxiliary gauges (amps/torque/temp). I want to install them on one of our SSRs that doesn't have gauges but I'm not sure I can. The gauges have the wiring harness with the plug attached. Two issues come to mind: isnt' there an attachment or holes for the clips on the bottom of the gauges on the center console and are all SSRs pre-wired for gauges? Wondering if I need a different center console and if I have to wire the SSR? Thanks

Chris ,

What number gauge kit do you have , GM had two differant one . One for the 03-04 theother for 05-06 If it has a outside temp gauge on it is is for the 05-06. All of the SSR have been wired for the gauge package's. the wire connector under the carpet in the center console.
When you get ready to put it in you can do th "search" on the install and we have on the site, a detail step by step on hoe to install it.

They're silver and they have the outside temp gauge. I saw the other recent post on installing these. I just realized it looks like there are plenty of posts out there already on this topic!

Same question, friends!
I found a seller of aux gauge pod. He wright in his discription, only that "it is for an 03/04 models and comes with mounting bracket and installation sheet". He can't answer the exact GM part # of this detail.
I've got the SSR 2003. VIN 1GCES14PX3B101813. Is there only one aux gauge pod with part number#10387279 available for 03/04 year? Does another variants exist for this years?

CHRIS;

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE THE GAUGE POD FOR A 05/06 MODEL YEAR (VOLTS/TORQUE/OUTSIDE TEMP). YOU WILL PEOBABLY HAVE TO GET A MOUNTING BRACKET AND THERE SHOULD BE A PLUG UNDER THE CARPET FORWARD OF THE CONSOLE. THERE IS A DIFFERENT CONFIGURATION OF THE GAUGES FOR THE 03/04 MODEL YEAR.....BIG JOHN

The description sounds like what you need for the 2003. The pod for the 03/04 has no variants, other than the color of the pod.

Hi Alexey.
So you don't get confused with some of the posts, this is from GM Accessories.
The 2003 has the Volt Meter, MPG and Transmission Temp Gauges.
You have the right part # GM-10387279 for MY2003-04.
This is the only gauge set for this model year (MY2003).

D A T A
Item Name: Center Gauge Pod (Satin Chrome) 03-04
Item No.: GM-10387279
Manufacturer: GM Accessories
Weight kg: 1.2

GM Part 10387280, the gauge set that has the Volt, Torque & Outside Temperature is for MY2005-06.
For anyone reading this for future point of reference, this is the MY2006 Satin Gauges Part#.
All colours and chrome have different Part #'s.

The center gauge for 03/04 is GPH (gallons per hour) not miles per gallon...totally useless!

Absolutly agreed. This is absolutly useless device, just like the holl SSR in most people's opinion, and just like the most tuning devices for him. Exept windscreens, maybe. So I'm not confused about their uselessness. Just one more small nice thing in the very nice big thing .

I agree they are a rarely viewed accessory, at least while driving if you value your life.
But like most bling it is for the eye to appreciate and IMO the console without them looks rather odd and unfinished.
When I bought my second it was one of my "must haves" when looking.

Have fun Alexey!!

WELCOME to the forum, Kfire . . . from Southern Arizona.

AUX Gauges show up from time to time on here as well as on eBay. Keep in mind there is a difference between the guages for the '03s and '04s vs those for the '05s and '06s.

GOOD LUCK.

Were a must have for me too! They look like the old stuart warner gauges we all had back when. It's part of the flashback factor for me, like the door lock knobs etc.etc.etc. I agree they terminate the console nicely I watch the voltmeter when putting the top up/down, don't know why?
