Has anyone attempted to paint these to match the Chevrolet nameplate and horizontal grill piece.
I'm struggling here in MI to match that silver finish of the grill piece.
Contact fellow forum member vetteman62.
He makes stainless steel pieces to apply to the grill bars.
He has a web site, but I don't remember it. Maybe someone else can help on that.

Thanks for the feedback.
I've never heard of anyone being sucessful at matching the Satin Chrome look in paint , some members have painted the lower three bars the same paint code as the wheels and it looks good others have painted the Chevy name plate and chevron bar when they paint the lower bars. The best match I have seen is the old Axiom bars , I like the look of the Axiom bars but many members think them too clunky, I'd bet one of our members has an unistalled set of Axiom bars they might sell ya. Below are some pictures of the Axiom bars.

Reason: spelling
I had a chrome headlight to headlight grill bar and a chrome hood front piece. I put the stainless pieces from a vender on the grill bars. Looked like poopoo. stainless is a different shine than chrome. Put on a headlight to headlight bar without the bowtie and a hood emblem without the chev. letters. Painted them silver to match the R and it looks perfect (to me) I also put a MPD front and rear spoiler. To me the truck should of come with the spoilers from the factory. Everyones different so you have to come up with what you like. I just hope it doesn't cost you as much as it did me to get what I wanted. Like the look I got now. Also a chrome bowtie on the tailgate looks real good on a silver truck. Good luck.

Thanks for taking time to respond. Are these Axiom bars a precursor to those stainless offerings from FLA??

Hi leav 61 and thanks for getting back. Can you clarify your sentence where you painted the grill pieces silver to match the R? What is the R? Also, the silver, was it the chrome look? As you stated, and as I discovered, the satin chrome is impossible to match, so who prepared the paint formula?. (PPG, Dupont)

Just answered your question on your other thread....
Gave you a link to the three bar covers you can buy and have them painted or chromed....
The front of my truck is the same color as the rest of the truck which is silver. The headlight to headlight bar is a after market with no bowtie. the hood emblem is also a after market with no letters. I had them painted the color of the truck which is silver. When I took the painter the parts he had me remove the gas door an bring it along so he could tint the paint to match the rest of the truck. Also I took the lower 3 stainless bars off I had previously installed. As for the R word, some people just say R instead of SSR. Hope this helps.
Here are a few pics of the Kaminari (Axiom) bars chromed and installed on Thumper's Bunny.
Doug those look beautiful!!!!!!! Thumper's got good taste

The Kaminari/Axiom bars that are sold now are unpainted but in the olden days they sold them with the satin chrome look (I have these on my kid's SSR). If you like the style I would advertise that you are looking for a set of the old axoim bars in satin chrome, I have purchased two sets from members that purchased them but never installed.

I just ordered the paint and reducer ( cost is $210.00 for 4 pts.) to paint the unfinished ones now being marketed by Kamanari.
How much are the satin chrome sets selling for uninstalled??
