Clutch Venting!

My SSR spent the night in my garage. This morning about 0800, I moved it outside under its own power. The clutch earned a D+. Outside air temp about 72ºF

At 0930, I went out to try the clutch, and it earned a D+ with the engine off, and with the engine on, trans in gear. Outside airtemp about 77ºF I ran the engine for less than thirty seconds. With the engine running and the trans in gear, the pedal hesitates on the way back up, but does make the trip.

At 1200, back out to the SSR, tried the clutch, D- engine on or off. Outside airtemp about 82ºF

Just went out to check it again a few moments ago. Engine off, clutch gets a D-, but gets an F with the engine running and the trans in gear, since the pedal sticks to the floor. Outside temp is 88ºF.

OK at 3:30pm the clutch pedal stays on the floor unless you pick it up. The outside air temp is 97ºF and inside the "trudk" it's 120ºF. Tried to drive the car back in the garage but couldn't. Made a mighty fine video which I'm posting to YouTube. Link here as soon as it loads.

No -- the only thing the Chevy dealer did is to allegedly order a mastercylinder with absolutely no idea of when or if we'd ever get one. That's after they lied to me about having removed the mastercylinder and after they lied to me about installing the supposedly less sh*tty door handle hardware.

I went and got the car -- after their putting me off an afternoon so that they could install the door panel in its fixed state. When I got the car the next morning, the door panel languishes in the bed of the "truck" untouched since I put it there.

I challenge anyone to tell me exactly how in the hell GM can engineer a clutch that is cabin air temperature dependent. That's a new one on me and I used to work on English, French and Italian cars for a living! This is the first car I've ever had that makes a Renault Dauphine seem tolerable.

Find another dealer. I did. This one seemed interested in helping me. Last one told me everything is normal. We'll see how it goes. Good luck.

The clutch assembly is being replaced. They are waiting for a flywheel.

I can get a flywheel for a 1953 MGTD before the sun sets. Why can't a Chevrolet dealer -- the one that is interested in helping you -- get one yesterday?
