consol not right

I got my R back from the dealer after roof module repairs.
They had taken the consol apart and not put it together correctly.

Anyone have instructions on taking this apart withput destroying it?

I am hoping that I can fix it myself. I hate to have to take it to the dealer again...
It has a 1/4" gfap on the passengers side where the top goes on and it doesn't look like it was "snapped down" as it should be.

I took it back to the dealer and he said i look fine to him.

I could drop it off and they would look at it.

Are you talking about the fit of the gauges where the color matched plastic does not conform to the console?

Lift straight up on the ends of the waterfall, top down, roof lid open. Metal clips just like the hoops and grille bar. Maybe it's needs to be seated correctly? With the roof open, look under the waterfall edge, you'll see the clips.

I suggest purchasing the Shop Manuals. SSR6SPD may have them on hard copy and I think DakotaDocMartin has them on disc.

The center waterfall must come off first, like MauiMike stated, you can simply lift up on that at the various clips insertion points and it should come out. That will expose the center console top end. You must then remove the shifter handle (torx screw on that I believe (auto)) and then with a bit of upward lift you can extract the gear shifter cover (window buttons, t/c and door lock buttons). Note where the plastic slider for the automatic goes as you pull it up to make sure you reinstall it in the same place.

There are a couple of screws holding down the center console top (under the gear shifter piece you just removed and under the storage box arm rest and at the top end of the center console.

I don't remember all of the lift points to remove the console (it's been a while), but I have this thread showing some pictures of the center console removed and one of the side panels.

I hope that helps.

console

I have removed mine several times. I could not get it to snap in in correctly causing a gap on the passenger side. I found if you set the console in correct position to snap in, I would then put the key in the box and turn to lock position, and it would drop down correctly. The little hook on the lock was stopping it from snapping on the passenger side. Hope it works for you.

Consol not right

Thanks for all the input. I am now trying to get a key the number on the lock appears to be 027.
I hope a locksmith can work with this.
Thanks everyone!!!
