Controller Arms

Apparently I've been pushing my SSR a bit hard. Can you say bull in a china shop.

Once I returned from Flagstaff i took my truck by the dealership to have them checck and if need be change the thermostat, switch out the spark plugs and I also needed some new windshield wipers.

They noticed some vibration when they test drove my truck and applied the brakes. The upper controller arms had too much play in them, and are no being replaced. Cha-ching and @$500 later (Just for controller arms)... It should cut out a lot of noise and vibration and over all it should handle better.

These kind of modifications keep up and I may need to sell a kidney to pay for eveything.

I don't recall your SSR being lower with aftermarket springs. Is it?
How many miles have you got on it?

I can handle the goading my friends give me. it's so much nicer than when I am being personally attacked by an "Admin" . You know who you are.

I apologize,.. but I just felt like this needed to be put on the public board.

THIS IS A JOKE

Michael, I don't know how many miles are on your truck, but to need a new set of upper control arms is unusual at best, especially if you've already replaced one.

Make sure the alignment shop checks all of your front end components, there may be a mitigating factor working against the upper A arms.

The part that broke on the Power Tour that year was the stabilizer link. It jammed against the tire/rim and wouldn't allow him to steer the truck till we got it out of the way.

Control arms bad for as little as you drive it. Not likely Mike.

Fuzzy, I do have over 80 k, but they did say the front end would be aligned after the fact. when I pick it up tomorrow I will ask what the final outcome was, as to how far out of alignement the front end was.

I would tend to agree that 80k isn't enough, but experience on my Silverado would say otherwise (I'm on my 2nd set of replacement upper control arms).

The bushings never went... it's the dang sealed ball joints.
