Damned Fool Hood Trim

While explaining to the shop tech how NOT to open the hood by pulling on the plastic trim, I pulled the ornament OFF. It just snapped off. I could not believe what I had done and was red faced, embarrassed and otherwise stupefied.

Now I need to know if this should be replaced, fixed or taken to a body shop for an expensive cover-up.

I know it has happened before, quite frankly why I bought Mike's HOOD HOOK Warning label.

I cannot believe this happened to me.

I'll look in the Parts Exchange to see if I have a satin emblem for you, I don't know offhand.

If you still have all the pieces you can JB weld it back together and it won't break again. It really works good on that type of plastic. (experience talking here)....
If you have lost some or all of it, I have a spare that can be purchased. PM me if you need.

I have all the parts. It sounds like JB Weld is the way to go so might give it a try. I have tacked the brackets back on with super glue.

I may take you up on that offer. I'll know this afternoon when I try to mend the unit.

Thank you, my FHLMC buddy.

WE are in the final throws of renovating our house. When it is finished I'd like to send you some pictures.

John and Mary.

By they way, and back to the original subject, how much to you want for the hood trim? I would probably put JB Weld into it before even installing it to prevent this from happening again.
