Dead Battery

Fine yesterday......dead this morning! I've never seen a battery go that fast, no electrical problems that I know of......got it running and drove it around for awhile came back and let it sit for 5 minutes and dead again......Battery, electrical switch?? ( 32,000 miles, '05)

My guess is battery. Once you get it started it runs on the alternator with the excess charging the battery. If the battery is bad, or the wiring to it, then nothing to start it the next time. Might want to make sure the wiring from the jump point under the hood to the battery is good.

As with BlueStreak, my money is on THE BATTERY, TPLSSRD . . .

Especially if it is the original battery as it could very well be pushing 4 years and possibly even older!

Due to the heat in Arizona and also when I lived in Walnut Creek . . . I swear by Optimas.

Good Luck,

Curt

Thought my battery had gone belly up a few weeks ago but jumped it and let it run a while in the driveway...its been fine since. I think my cell charger drained the battery as I had left it plugged in and hadn't driven the for a while. I remember to unplug it now

I had the same thing happen to me, a few months ago. My cell was plugged into the passenger side charger because it is always active and it drained the battery OVERNIGHT!

I jumped it; it started right up; and has never failed me, since.

Just letting a Batt. try to charge in a driveway will not charge it as good as you may think. Running for 5 min. that is. Take it out on the hi-way for a nice run. That will give it a good charge. I've stated before that a Batt. Tender is the way to go. If you let you R sit for a couple wks. at a clip.

The battery in my 04 gave up the ghost about a week before MV. Sears Die Hard installed!

Mine gave out while still under warrenty and the dealer replaced for free. Check to see if you are still under original warrenty.

My guess would be the Red Optima, Ruby.

I'm still running a Delco in my R but that's only because it was covered under warranty after a little over two years. When the time comes to replace it, I'll definitely go for the Optima, probably Red.

After needing to replace the Delco Batteries in my '87 Silverado after two plus years about three separate times, I switched to the Rep Optima and was surprised that it lasted at least twice as long as the Delcos. The same goes for my 23 year old Jeep CJ-7 with the Yellow Optima.

Five plus years vs two plus years makes the Optima worth every penny of the extra initial cost.

Missed you at Coco'c today and now I know why. You sure seem to be having more than your share of troubles. Did the dealer ever tell you exactly what caused the failure in the tranny?

Hey Mike, yeah, I snuck into the work area and talked to the teck who did the work and he showed me where the snap ring on servo came loose and knocked out a corner of the case where the snap ring goes. ( I helped work on nine servos and mine's the one to go. I'm glad it was mine though and not someone else........)
