Door handle finally crapped out.

After almost 8 years, my outside drivers door handle finally crapped out. Although I am having SO much fun walking to the passengers side, stretching my little body all the way over to unlock it from the inside, I would like to get it fixed cheap and on the fly as I am out of warranty, out of money, and out of time. Any quick tips?

I had the same problem. My outside door handle would not open the door, but the inside handle would. Just pull the door panel, pull back the plastic, then pull on the outside door handle. You'll see a black lever on the inside of the door handle move up and down as you operate the handle. The lever is held on by an allen head screw. Tighten the screw good and tight and it should fix it. If this doesn't fix it, I don't know what the problem is...................

I had the same issue Lloyd described, only I removed the massive, usless, spring that is held on with that allen head screw and put it all back together. Now my doors not only open from the outside again, but it takes no effort to pull the door handle and makes the action much nicer.

So how does the handle return back to it normal position?
This may be something I need done as I have trouble with the passenger door handle more then the driver door.

redisigned door handle

I wish someone with the time and contacts would design a new 'open D' style of exterior door handle that we could get a couple of fingers into.

I really dislike the OEM design. I think if we could switch those out for a 100 bucks it would be a nationwide phenomenon
