door wont open from outside

i know that there was a problem with the doors not opening from the inside but my RH door will open from the inside but not from the outside. i havent taken it to the dealer yet but thought i would post for a cause and solution.
when i took my son to pick up his harley the other day, he kind of slammed the door when he got out. (thought he was in his blazer.) that might have caused something to break ?

Pull the interior door panel off, reach in and re-connect the actuating rod to the exterior door handle - it probably just popped off.

I agree with Doug. My wife will slam the Passenger Door very hard if my Drivers side door is open. I try and get out and close the door before she does. At least the Air Compression will slow the door down a little. I don't know about you guys but I can't tell my wife that she is a Gorrilla when it comes to slaming doors. When you hear a rattle when the door closes, it's time to pull the door panel and check for loose hardware.
